Yeah, I ain't posting my totals this month - it was a "recovery" month for me....  Actually I would have been proud to share my running totals except that I got sidelined for the last two weeks...

Oh well, on to November...

I had one of the lowest months on record for me....this off-season takes a lot of getting used.  Same goes for rehab.  I knew when I switched over to triathlon, my '09 numbers would be lower than my '08's where my mentality was "the more the better" so I am ok with that (I guess).  Biggest aha moment for me is I am closing in on 300,000 yards.  I think I should be better given all that time, but I'm must be a really slow learner Undecided.  I should have been born a water sign instead of a Bull.

October's totals:
Bike:15h 23m  - 256.5 Mi
Run:17h 25m 31s  - 117.1 Mi
Swim:15h 51m  - 30600 Yd
Strength:6h 45m

Wow, looks like we had a few good racers this weekend!  Congrats you!  Smmmmmokin!

October was (as I said a while ago) the start of my recovery.  Did you see all the yellow days?  I'm not so sure recovery is supposed to look quite like that.  It was the most yellow days in one month for the whole year (19) - Yikes.

I think I had the least amt of running in 1 month in Oct.  I plan to take some time to focus on swimming over the next few months.  I'll also be hitting the bike trainer a bit and running will be slow and easy.  November I will need to get my running back up though.  I'd hoped for 500 miles running, but as the year progressed I thought that 600 would be attainable, so that'd be 122 miles over the next 2 months - I don't think it'll happen, although it would only be about 2 miles a day.  No planned races for November.

What are YOUR plans for November?

So my totals:
October's totals:
Bike:4h 05m 45s  - 66.51 Mi
Run:3h 40m 21s  - 25.87 Mi
Swim:2h 19m 39s  - 4874.89 Yd
Strength:1h 15m
Elliptical Training:55m
P90X:2h 45m

My season has ended and I took a large part of October as recovery:
Bike:9h 09m 16s  - 188.95 Mi
Run:11h 58m 17s  - 75.85 Mi
Swim:2h 35m 36s  - 7424 Yd

I have started November as my serious off-season building. I am slowly building my run back. I intend to get back to about 30 miles/week running. I am also building my bike time on the trainer. I did 26 miles last night at 22 mph. That little pacer guy beat me by 5.5 minutes! I also started eating right again. I intend to start next season at my goal weight:189! I'll keep you all updated.

I may use a local coach this year too.

Finally 2010 has a new event here in NC the Tobacco Trail Marathon 3/21. The trail is BEAUTIFUL!!! I really had no intention of running a marathon, but the course long with the cool March temperatures make this about as appaling as it will ever get for me. So 11/30 is 16 weeks out and if I think I am interested at the end of the month, then I will begin a 16 week marathon program on that date.

Well it was a big running month for me, but still got some good bike and swim in. Not getting any faster at swimming, sadly, maybe getting slower. I think at year's end, I will be double my run mileage for last year...do you guys (tony, rob) remember ribbing me to get those last 2.5 miles in on new year's eve to reach 500? I am at 930 and change right now! October's totals: Bike: 11h 03m 35s - 182.49 Mi Run: 21h 16m 19s - 151.16 Mi Swim: 7h 50m - 15700 YdGood luck to Tracy and her Doug, Chet, Linda, Suzy, Sam (and Tony if he decides to do the Half mary) and anyone else with races this weekend...be careful of household hazards!!! We will be rooting for you guys. Sorry for the run on october numbers, yet again, i am having computer "problems"

This is the actual national organization - like USAT.  I don't have any masters swim teams in my area... unless I start one.  But you have to be a USMS member to swim at their meets/events.  Could be good.  I need the extra motivation to become a better swimmer next season.

Iron Race week!!!!!  Go Linda!  Go Tracy!  All my eggs have been in this basket all year and it is now 5 days away.  6 year old woke up sick today, hoping to not be sick Saturday.  Travel tomorrow, packing now.  Can anyone tell me what I am missing?  I have a vision of a cold beer sitting next to a finishers medal for Saturday night.  Hope you all can join me.

Good luck to everyone racing this weekend!

Sam has done more masters sessions than I have but if you are looking for some motivation to swim they are pretty good for that.  I was getting bored always swimming by myself so I went to masters a few times.

Every group is different, one that Sam first went to and I tried out offered pretty much no instruction whatsoever, just swim.  The 2nd was much better, not like a one on one session but good for getting tips.  Also motivation to swim a bit harder as you have folks in yoru same lane doing the same set, so you don't want to get lapped.

Good Luch Chet, lol, I always set everything out on the table, look at it a few times, pack, then unpack because I can't remember what I put in the bag...

Then I get to the hotel and unpack and realize I forgot something.  Always look online before you go to figure out where the closest bike shop is if you forget anything.

I'm guarantee you I'm packing a couple of beers to drink in the hotel Saturday night just for you guys.  Funny that we have a bunch of races this weekend and my HIM on Sunday is one of the shortest.
