I'm so ridiculously tired, I need to do something to snap out of this, I'm just not sure what. You should definitely talk to your coach about it. My own suggestion would be to take a day off. Now. Indeed, I was just having this conversation with an athlete my coach is currently training. He's training for IMCDL and is really pushing the volume. He's fatigued, but didn't want to tell our coach because he wants to do all the workouts on the schedule and is afraid if he doesn't he won't be prepared and he doesn't want to complain. This is the exact opposite of what our coach actually wants his athletes to do. He get's frustrated when people aren't communicating with him about how they are feeling so that he can make the adjustments in their schedule. It's far more important to be executing training sessions properly then simply completing them because they are on a schedule. He knows I'm tired, but I'm still executing my key workouts the way I'm supposed to, so its likely mental fatigue (this whole day job thing can really get in the way). He's watching my numbers, if I start to slip, then more rest. Strangely enough, once I started riding this morning, I felt much better, now if only I can finish a memo in opposition at work today I'll be all set. |
