Master 1734 On a lake in the Adirondacks in NY | Subject: RE: GIRLS TEAM THREAD May Swim Challenge Happy Wednesday! I did my first ever 2000 yard workout this morning. And that was before I caught up on the thread and saw all the "inspiration" Julie has been providing. If I had looked first, I might have done 2500! Half of my swim workouts are done, and I'm at 58%. I hope the boys are getting their cameras ready. We are going to be enjoying their pictures pretty soon! GIRLS ROCK!!!!!!! |

Master 1332 Vista, CA | Subject: RE: GIRLS TEAM THREAD May Swim Challenge Okay, so I drove 45 minutes down to La Jolla aka paradise to swim with the fishes and was to meet my swimmer friend there, waited, waited, asked the very cute lifeguards if they'd seen them...nope. So, I just asked the lifeguards to watch me and I swam out to the 1/2 mile buoy marker and back, BY MYSELF!!! I was a bit nervous, but not fear. Water temp was 64, so nice. Visibility about 10 feet, so a bit murkey, but I did manage to see some orange girabaldi and some little brown fishes. Ran into some amazing looking seaweed, too.
Yeah!! Another swim bites the dust...and the boys will soon follow. Go, splash, kick! That's a garibaldi.. Lynn |

I'm still getting in my swim time, which is good since IM Wisconsin just gets closer and closer each day! The good news is that there is a very, very hot tri guy who swims at just about the same days and times I swim. He has done wonders for my motivation in the pool since looking at hot guys never hurts anyone! Hope you all are having a great month destroying the boys in the pool! Aimee. |

Expert 1007 Hattiesburg, Mississippi | Subject: RE: GIRLS TEAM THREAD May Swim Challenge Wow, I did my first OWS this evening. It was great!! I had so much fun. I love swimming without walls. It's definitely different than in the pool, practically no visibility in the lake we were in and it took me some time to get into the groove. It was not my best performance as far as distance and time go, but I was taking in the new experience and practicing sighting and that helped to slow me up a bit as well a few rests along the way. We only went about .43 miles Maybe 750 yards; apparently folks meet every Wednesday after work and I am invited to join in, I will make this a regular event for sure! |
