What do ya'll think about wearing a finisher's medal in public, after a race?
I saw more than once Chicago marathon medal in O'Hare airport yesterday.

I personally thought it was a little too much "look at me" but my parents thought it was cute. My excruciatingly slow walk of shame victory through the terminal was enough to let anyone with any run knowledge know I'd ran the marathon

What say TAN?

If you went right from the race to the airport, I could see it.... but, I wouldn't even wear a medal to dinner that same night (unless I went right to dinner from the race without getting cleaned up first - which I wouldn't ever want to do).

Why not wear it. Be proud and loud so they will look at you! Nothing wrong with that!

You changed my mind.  I'm going home and getting all my medals out from the last 5 years and wearing them all at once.  I think the "MR T" look is coming back.  If not, I'll start it.

Congrats on finishing! I'm sure I'm late to comment after everyone else today.

Probably the shirt and limp are enough...medal might be a little much most normal days.

Maybe next time, since your parents like to be proud of you, you can have shirts made for them that have "She kicked a$$ --->". And they can escort you with your shirt, medal and limp.

From the race, yes. After that, I wouldn't, but if they wanna wear it for the next month or two, who cares?

We saw it in Paris when these two young Americans were there, one with a medal and one without. And the one without was all `And then I was like, I am not enjoying this. And that's why I dropped out.' Yet her friend was still wearing hers many many hours after the race and it looked like they'd even gone to the hotel, showered and then came out for food. Some friend. OUCH!

Drove in Yesterday morning and rode my bike home.

Rode my bike in today, it's getting late-ish and it'll take me 1.5 hours to ride home.

Should I suck it up and ride home knowing that I have to ride in tomorrow morning or just be a lump and drive it??? ~18 miles, lots of hills...

ETA: Check that spit out.  I'm top of the page.  I'm definitely riding it now... 35 more miles on my log, here I come!!!

I really don't care, cuz I never go.  I prefer Brio's or Magianos if I'm going to a chain italian place.

Not exaggerating. As I understand it, pasta is on a steam table and everything else is nuked to order. I like Bucca de Beppe for chain Italian, but will hunt out authentic, family owned when possible. Boston's North End or Provdence's Capital Hill are extraordinary.

Ummm...Address please!

I used to go to a Lebanese place in dahtahn Pikksberg which had belly dancers at lunch every Friday. Nothing like baba-gahnoush and entertainment.
