Sometimes I think what's for dinner when I'm still having lunch.

I see your pink sock, dear Gym.

It's old and wrinkly but I hear the elastic is still good.

We just had about 3 inches of rain unloaded on us and many flash floods with in the area. 

Severe rain/flash floods in some areas/lightning & thunder storms...  such fun when you can watch it from indoors!

My boots are still damp from being caught outside in the ickiness yesterday. 

i eat everything in my SIGHT.  i think i have a problem!

It's even worse when you're at home most days.  Cupboards and a pantry and a fridge ALL with lots and lots of food in them!!! 

The main topic at most Filipino meals is where/what we will be going/eating for the next meal.  It was crazy when I went to Manila.  I would be stuffing my face with rice, longganisa, and pandesal and everyone was talking about going to Kenny Rogers Chicken for lunch and what everyone was going to order.

Meals and food are a big deal with Filipinos for some reason.  Part of the culture.

BUT, unlike me/Americans.  They don't stuff their faces every meal.  They eat light and often.  That was my downfall when I visited.  I ate like every meal was my last and didn't know how they could be thinking about food 3 hours after the last meal.  They didn't help because again, food is a big deal and they kept offering me more food and piling it on my plate.  I didn't know how to say no.

That's my problem.  I eat when bored, and with a pantry/fridge full of good stuff?  Problem.

The high school where my sister works is closed today because it has sewer backup and part of the building sank a foot into the ground..?!

Oh my.  That's a problem.  Kiss that school good bye, or a lot of it.  There's not fixing that except to tear down, excavate, refill, and rebuild.

I would be curious to hear more about this over the next couple weeks/months.

Because I am not home very often in my city condo, I keep very/very little food there.  It definitely solved many issues I have.  Easier to do when you live alone without family or kids. 

My two boys are always concerned when they come over.  And when I shop for them, I send it all home with them at the end of the trip.  WIN

Yikes!  I got a alert at 5:00 am this morning canceling the bus service for my kids but school was still on.  Smart-real smart, buses can't get thru the street so my car can?  I hate everyone :-)

Exactly.  And will power isn't exactly my strong suit.  Neither is patience... so "waiting" for it to be lunchtime?  Just ain't gonna happen. 

when i'm home, i eat constantly.  so i just need to not be at home, i guess...

Saw a video not an hour ago about a massive sink hole opening up in Chicago that swallowed a few cars.

It's so hard for me to NOT eat constantly.  And hard not to be at home when you don't have a job to go to.  But, hopefully that will change very soon!

But unlike Filipinos, Indonesians seem to stuff themselves ... but like Filipinos, they stay tiny. Can't figure!

I find it fascinating!

I never want to see someone hurt and if it's just "stuff" (even though I would hate for it to be MY stuff), it amazing to watch.

And if it was my car?  (and I have insurance?).  I think the fascination of it would offset some of the frustration of losing it.

I always wonder where the soil goes.  Most of the time it's pipe that's broken and the soil get's washed downstream.  But it could also be a void that was there naturally and it finally collapses.

I don't want to jinx anything... but I'm apparently getting a formal job offer tomorrow!! 

There's still a background check to be done and as long as I pass that, I could be one of the gainfully employed and at a job on May 13th.  WOOT!!!
