Here are some interesting facts from Clearwater ( well maybe just one)
  • Over 31 percent of the 1,650 athletes in the field are women.
  • The largest men's division is men's 35 to 39, with 219 athletes.
  • In the women's race, both 30 to 34 and 35 to 39 have 83 athletes.
  • 55 countries have athletes competing. The largest represented is the US, with 753. Canada has 138 and Great Britain has 104.
  • Calgary is the largest city represented with 27 athletes.
  • The oldest competitors in Saturday's race are 79-year-old Madonna Buder, from Spokane, Washington. Lew Hollander, from Bend, Oregon and Bob Scott from Naperville, Illinois are both 79, too.
  • The youngest athletes in the race are18-year-old Victoria Juanicotena from Cancun, Mexico and Stephen Harvey from Statesbory, Georgia.

Tony, let me check when I get home, but you can have my Speedplays.  I don't think they are the zeros, maybe the X2 (again let me check) but if they will fit and you want them they're yours.  At least they can get you through for the time being.

And if anyone wants to continue the pay it forward program, I'll take a free pair of HEDS as well Wink

That would be awesome tracy.  Let me check first if my cleats would work on them, would hate for you to go to the trouble sending if I can't use them.

LOL, let me check what I have around that I don't use and see if anyone can use.  Only thing I can think of is the total immersion swimming book someone can have if interested.

Just checked, my zero cleats only work with zero pedals

Actually I do have a size large red zoot tri-top and a white tri-top that I won't be wearing anymore.  They are actually too baggy for me now : )  If anyone wants em, let me know.

LOL Barry, I don't think going to Lonestar is a requirement.

Plainsman AU - 2009-11-13 2:58 PM Can one still participate in the SWBKRUN MG if not participating in Lonestar?    Looks like we aready have a bunch of smack talk going on here.  If the money fairy shows up betweeen now and then I would love to make the trip but am not counting on it.

I love this 70 degree weather.  Went out and did a quick 18 mile bike around lunchtime today...it was just too nice of a day not to get out and do something.

Barry, I think several of us are considering coming to Augusta next year as well...  I know it is on mine and John's radar...

Lonestar is definitely not a requirement.  This group can smack talk over which breakfast cereal is best.

Tony and I have also been thinking about Augusta as a fall trip.  We like the ones within driving distance.  :-)

     Big News!!!!Dancing
After two solid years of searching and help from countless people including Tony, I ordered my tri-bike, a custom GURU MAGIS in Kandy Red....went with the SFX ink and decided I won't be falling any more. Laughing  I'm told five weeks to wait for the frame (damn Canadians!) and then the build begins. Still working on components, thinking Dura Ace so far. Oh, getting a PT to boot!

Why not jump across the border and get it yourself. Quebec is beautiful in the fall. You aren't that far away.

Suzy- awesome news on the bike.  Please let me know what you name her!  I got mine back today in one piece and am so happy.  You will love the new bike!  Good luck on the build.  Mine is complete Dura down to the brakes and am very happy with all the components.

If you guys do it, I will only be able to cheer you on being less than a month after Louisville, but I will definitely be there.  I've got the cold adult beverages covered at the finish.

SWEET!   You can wrap it up and put it by the tree.  Be careful though, its so small some people might think its ornament and try to touch it.

Had a blast running the 8k this morning.  Ran it in 49:59.  Quite a few big climbs, lots of rocks, roots, leaves etc, and 2 stream crossings.  Course was sloppy and muddy due to all the rain we have had in the last few days.

Would have been a bit faster but ran it with my neighbor and his knee got sore at one point so I slowed down to keep with him for a bit then he just told me to go ahead so I took off.

Never done a trail run before, think I will look for more.
