Anthony from Philadelphia.  Great to read everyone's updates.  This will be my 1st Ironman ... I signed up for Florida 2007 but a bike crash a month before the event resulted in a broken hip.  I have done many sprints, one Olympic and one 1/2 Ironman.   I have a full range of thoughts and emotions right now...a lot of anxiety, some doubt, some excitement, will i be ready? am i doing enough?

I have almost 2000 miles on my bike this year with tons and tons of climbing (it may suprise some people to learn its tough to ride north of Philly without riding hills).  Just did my longest ride (over 100 miles) and longest open water swim (1.2 miles) this past weekend.  I have a few 15 mile runs and an 18 mile run in with another 18 mile run scheduled this weekend.  My last big event before taper is a 7 day organized ride across Pennsylvania from Aug 7th through Aug 14th...it'll cover ~450 miles.  I'll average ~65 miles and over 5500ft of climbing for 7 straight days.  I'll throw in a couple 10 mile runs during the week too...

Keep posting, I'll enjoy reading everyone's updates.  Good Luck to all in Louisville.

Doing my first 100+ tomorrow, actually 112.1, it's a mental thing.  Longest ride to date = 77.  Also using INFINIT as fuel, so wish me luck.  It's supposed to be 95 with chances of showers.  Steam Bath?  Plenty of Sunscreen please!

And if all works well I will be below 200 lbs for the first time in 15 years!  Hopefully 190 at Louisville.

I am have a blast, are you?

My first century (well 2nd ever) should be tomorrow as well.  I am scheduled to ride 6hr 15 min so hopefully will get at least 112.  Not suppose to be hot though, stinks.  It was hot all week and then today a cold front.

Kudos to those doing their first century and much envy about the fella with the 7 straight days of cycling!  That would be heaven!

Doing 100 tomorrow and I have ran through one 25 serving batch of Infinit during training so far and I'm totally sold on the product.  My first batch was a custom blend that was spot on first try.  I waited around and forgot to get my order in on time for the next batch.  Good thing the local multisport store carries the standard mix (non-custom).  Unfortunately they were sold out of everything but the run and recovery formulas.  I'll be doing 100 tomorrow with the standard run formula supplementing with some bars for protein and a calorie boost.  I dread the bars but that will teach me to get my order in on time in future.  All that to say, I love my experience with Infinit so far.

If you want to save 10% on your order just PM me.

Training is finally going well again. Swim is slow, but can go the distance, bike is very good, run is lagging.  I took off a month trying to get rid of some tendinitis at the attachment point in my hamstring (at the pelvis) that hurt most when I run.  Almost completely gone so resumed running last week.  Hope I can get it together by race date.  Loving the training at this point.  Will be riding the course tomorrow and trying to do a brick run after, should be fun.

Sdanaher< sucks about the crash.  Just got my bike back today from last weekends crash.  Hope you weren't hurt to bad.

Infinit, very good stuff.  When you talk to them about tweeking your mix, tell them everything you do on race day and they will make your nutrition system even better.

If you are in south Mississippi area and need a bike shop to fix an emergency problem, Cyclist Choice in Gulfport is your place.  They helped me with Carmin and she is smooth as ever.

What is it now?  49 Days?

elcamino: Had to take the week off.  Was unable to close my left hand and my knee was cut up bad so running was out.

And you can only imagine what jumping in a chlorine pool would feel like.

Getting back out there tomorrow AM.

Now I truly just "Want to finish"

Good luck to everyone with their workouts this weekend.  Sounds like we've got a few guys coming back from injuries and a few long rides scheduled.  My long ride this week will be tomorrow.  Going for 6 hrs 30 min.  That should put me around the 112 mile range.  It's going to be another hot one in the south.  92 today, 94 again tomorrow.  I went out for a quick spin for an hour today and tried Infinit.  It seemed to work pretty well.  Tomorrow will be the real test!

Holy Cow!  I did 112.1     Total Time =  7:20  Avg 15.3  2000 feet of climbing but man I felt like I was going uphill all tghe time!  It was hot!

My first 100+.  I feel ok and actually feel like I could run maybe 13 of the 26.2  Hope I can make it happen in 6 weeks.

INFINIT worked well but what really gave me a great boost was a 16 oz Pepsi I got at mile 80!  WOW that picked me up and carried me through the finish!  I feel good about this workout but wish and hope I can get the average up to 16.  It's hard to carry 202 lbs uphill though!

If anyone tells you 112 miles isn't far,  thay are absolutely wrong!

Way to go on your 112.  Just got in from my 100 and it's hot here too.  I have to send out a thumbs up to the standard mix Infinit.  I know I said I have a code for anyone wanting to order from Infinit but I have to say I prefer the taste and consistency of the standard "running" mix.  At the store the price is less (guess they get it for less) and I like it better.  I've already ordered one custom blend so I'll have to use it but that may be my last one I order.  Love the product!  The mix I used today didn't have protein and my custom blend does.  I liked the taste and consistency w/o but I did supplement with some fig newtons and 2 bars with nuts.  Just thought I'd pass that on if any of you are curious about the product you may find it in your multisport store as a standard mix.

Did 109 today and then ran 9:00/mile for 30 minutes.  Did the bike slightly slower than I wanted but my aero pad broke after 2 hours so I had to ride sitting up for 4 hours so overall I am pleased.

Plus I climbed over 7K but not a whole lot of heat it was warming up but only to low 80's but humid.

Overall I am pleased  other than I have 3+hr tomorrow and 1hr on Monday with no aero bars.

I had previously broke the other side of my bars and profile design sent me one and they were suppose to ship the other one later but never did (I knew this would bite me later).

Glad to see everyone is pushing hard with 49 days to go. I have been pushing forward as well, I have a 112+bike ride tomorrow and certainly looking forward to the rest of training as well as race day. We'll see how I feel after the ride.

Finished the Muncie Endurathon (HIM) today in 6:29:24. If I can finish IMKY in double that time I will be very happy!

Of course that's not gonna happen... the bike was VERY flat and I averaged 18.8 MPH! I'm planning on 16.5 for IMKY.

And my swim was, of course, terrible... 1:07:17. Ouch! I better get in line early on Aug 29. I'm still not swimming in a straight line so the zigzagging is really costing me. And when I see I'm off course I tend to backstroke or sidestroke to get back, which slows me down. I feel like my balance and form is really improving though. I went nice & easy, tried to push my chest down & keep the elbows high during recovery.

But hey, at least I have lots of room for improvement! If I can get better about swimming straight I think I'll finish under 2 hours fine.

And while my run wasn't stellar (2:09:36), I passed a LOT of people on the 2nd half of the run, so that gave me lots of confidence that I paced the race well. All in all, even though a HIM this close may cost me some training time, I'm really glad I did it. My confidence in myself and motivation got a much needed boost.

I put in a 5hr century yesterday.  Everything went pretty well, route had about 2300ft of total climb.  I can't wait for raceday so I can do a long ride without any stop signs/lights.

Rode 104.3 today; 6:33 but had over 6300 feet of climbing.  After that, 2300 will be a walk in the park.  Great job to all that put in centuries, races, etc.  The push is on to the finish!

Good Times!

For some reason I was thinking or had read the IMKY climb is ~4000 feet?  But is it ~2300 instead.  I have the ride video and it is similar to climbs I do in CN and Ga but can't figure out how they 4k out of it.  Anyone know the climb?

Went down and road the course yesterday, all 112. It was hot, but is an excellent course.  The roads are about as good as you get.

The course is constantly rolling hills.  I have seen that it has a s much climbing as WI, but less difficult.
