I would think it would be motivational to get my swim times down |

Regular ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I feel like I have been lacking on my swim training for the past 2 weeks. I guess it's because I hit a plateau in the pool. I'm going to get a video analysis in 2 weeks. Maybe this will get me ramped up to swim more. It seems like I get more focused on one sport for a few weeks and change my attitude and get more focused towards another. I wish I could get an equal balance. Do you guys feel like this sometimes? |

Just saw it in my email and checked the main site. The water temp is really supposed to be upper 60's to low 70's!? oh man that sounds soo good, can't wait to test it out when i finally get there. @SEADOCHA - I noticed a plateau a while ago a little after training started in swimming. but i stuck w/ the plans fink had provided and improvements were noticed. It may not seem like it sometimes but improvements are being made. Are your pace times accurate? |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() mdfahy - 2012-02-16 9:09 PM I got mine as well. I can't believe I slept in that line up right after the event ended and all I had was two lawn chairs. I was 3rd in the public line up cause volunteering filled up! Question: if you want to do it again next year do you have to sign up the day before? Or can you join the volunteer line up the Monday? So today I changed my pedals on my own to speedplay and what a huge difference it made. I gained 2kph ave speed in ny 45min ride and shaved off 30secs in my pace! Great pedal but it take some getting used to as I have to keep my feet in or my shoes would come off easily. triguy1043 - 2012-02-16 1:15 PM Did everyone get thier offical 2012 Lake Placid Ironman email today? This is one of the biggest challenges of Triathlon. TRUST ME, you are so not alone. Another huge challenge is putting your favorite discipline on the back-burner and training your limiters. Brutal. |

Brutal. Ahh, the advantage of all three disciplines being a limiter, nothing has to move to the back burner. I was about to comment that I have two major, super duper limiters...but Sluggo312 beat me to it. I'm not sure which is more limiting -- being really slow in two disciplines or moderately slow in three. Ahh, the existential questions of triathlon training. Since I was slow on the last comment...I'll kick off what is inevitable for the thread today. I skipped my trainer ride last night because I'm planning to go out with the roadies again tomorrow. No doubt, they will kick me around something good and I'll come home on fumes, but it should be fun to ride outside and to ride with a group since I do most of my training alone. What do you have planned this weekend? |

don't get in line with the VOLS. You need to sign up before the race for next year, or at least I think that's when. But if you get in line with the VOLS you will be put into another line to wait. There we a few people in that line last year when we were waiting.

What do you have planned this weekend? As gassed as you may feel, when you finish the ride. Jump off the bike and put on your running shoes and shout out, "OKAY. Who's ready for a quick 10k run? 3-miles out and back. No biggie. Who's in? Huh??" That'll put the peloton purists in their place and separate the boy roadies from the real men triathletes. *** if applicable, insert "girl roadie" and "woman triathlete".

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() This weekend closes out a recovery week. 1 hour run today, 2 hour bike tomorrow, and a 1 hour run on Sunday all easy Z2. If the weather holds out I'll get out on the road for the 2 hour bike, if the rain comes I'll end up at a 90 minute spin class and then just stay on the bike an extra 1/2 hour after class. It's not on the training schedule but I might also go to a 2 hour spin class late Sunday afternoon, I've heard that it's a killer class that my gym is only doing for 10 weeks (6 weeks left) to get cyclists in shape for spring rides. |

Member ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I'm excited for my scheduled weekend workouts. Anyone else really look forward to them? Saturday ride looks like a small group heading around and through Harriman State Park with some good climbs. I'm aiming for a 2.5 hr ride w a short run. Sunday too, is a hilly run through Harriman for 90 min and a short 30 min spin on the trainer. One of the many benefits of being a teacher...I actually have off from work this week. I'm expecting some great training. Roll safe... |

Regular ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Did anyone attend the Endurance Nation camp last year for IM Lake Placid? I'm talking about the one that cost $25 and this year it is $100 (think it's on special for $69 right now). I'm going to LP to train that same weekend. My friend is signed up and I'm debating on whether to pay the money or just go and train on my own. I was just wandering if I will really benefit from paying the money or if I would just be paying the cash to go ride and run with a group. If you went in the past did you really pick up any helpful hints for IM? |

Saturday - 11 mile run plus swim. It's suppose to be sunny and 40's so I might get the bike out on the road Sunday 3 hr trainer ride watching Warrior! |

I think if you attend their camp you get a shirt And you can attend their discussion after the ride. Heres one of their videos specifically for lake placid. http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F&gl=CA#/watch?v=fKwBHdsS6... |
