That is a pretty ugly time for northerners to train for long distance races. I'm doing Boston and believe a couple more MG'ers will be too. Anyone else interested in that alternative?  Had a great swim lesson with SJ. My only bit of praise came from my backstroke. Apparently I swallowed the appropriate amount of water. I'm starting bilateral breathing and EVF next....always something with swimming. Oh and I am going to give aqua jogging a whirl. Anyone else ever done that? is it easy to do? tips? |

Linda and Tracy, come out to do Alcatraz! The bike is way less difficult than Savageman. It is my normal training route, a bit hilly but no problem with compact gears...beautiful bike and a tough run especially with the sand ladders! |

Lots of fun - learned some new drills to use going forward. Last thing we did was a relay race. I was second on my team - push hard off the wall and BAM!!! Double calf cramps. I struggle down to 25 yd turn and but could not make the turn and swim back. Every stroke the two little baseballs that used to be my calves knotted up harder.... OMG - what pain!! I looked like a Forrest Gump in a pool pulling myself down the lane rope all the way back... Just had to share a day in the life.... |
