Congrats to Steve and Susan for their races this weekend -- fantabulous jobs by both of you! And what about Susan going out for a nearly two hour run the day after -- is she nuts??? I'm training for a half mary in two weeks, and moaned about my two hour run this morning (which I didn't make). Then I look at her log -- ok, make me feel bad. Thanks..went out yesterday for a 1 hour bike ride and it started raining about 15 min. in so because of the Way to go scissors for the first place...everyone have a great week. Headed to baseball practice..running 1 mi. each way...trying to get those to add up for us. Steve mua ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!! steve-i KNEW you'd cross over to my side eventually!!! see!! rain running ISN'T just for tough chicks!! LOL it's also for hottie-tri-fire-fighter-grampa-hotties (did i mention hottie?? ) ok so the taco fest?? i KNOW you're all dying of curiosity no joke, there are times he's made those tacos that i've put away 10 or 11 of them!! you guys have RUINED ME!!!! i ate 4!! ONLY 4!! i suppose i shouldn't complain being as i've gone from a size 14-16 to a size 4-6 but STILL!! he only makes them every couple of YEARS!!! oh well, anyway, i'm off to have a run. i'm scheduled to have my "long run" on thursday, but today might be a shorter version of the long run, i'm just going to go slow, and keep going and going for a while. i'm getting a little "burn out" going on and a run usually helps a lot. |

Pro 4343 Olney, MD | Subject: RE: Running with Scissors Good morning! (yes, it's still morning, if only barely). What a glorious day so far: it was 58 degrees, bright and sunny at 8am! No work today so I slept in a bit and then did a morning run. Since I had the time, I did some extra distance, my first time running over 3.4 miles! My legs were really feeling it at the end and my pace was kinda slow. Still, I managed to bring the whole thing in at under 10 min pace. Now, I'm feeling like a couch slug; not sure what's in store for the rest of the day. |

Headed to baseball practice..running 1 mi. each way...trying to get those to add up for us. Steve Did you get to take leftovers home? LEFTOVERS?!?!?! HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!! there ARE no leftovers!! a lot of my family showed up ('twas actually a celebration of my oldest brother turning 40) so there were about 200 tacos-and about 14 people. i know it evens out to everyone eating an outstanding 14.28 tacos. BUT that's my family. i THINK there were actually 6 tacos left over, and my mom (bless her little heart) sent them home with my brother, who i'm SURE doesn't appreciate them NEARLY as much as i would have poor DH didn't even get any--he was at work. as far as the recipe steve-all i know is that my great grandfather learned it, and it's been passed down. there's lots and lots of black pepper and vinegar involved, but that's all i know. i WATCHED him make them, and i've attempted it, i can't even get close. it's some kind of "magic" that i haven't earned yet had an awesome run. feeling pretty good now. funny how a good long run helps to put all kind of mental nonsense back in to perspective |

Expert 1580 Ankeny, Iowa | Subject: RE: Running with Scissors Hi everyone - I feel good today. I revised my goal down from 60 to 45 to account for most of last week being out with the flu. I updated the spreadsheet today. Big news - I did a 2 mile run tonight - slowish at 23:20 but I didn't want to push the first night back. I feel good now. Here's hoping for feeling good in the morning so I can continue running. Everyone seems to be doing a GREAT job!!! Stacie |

Other than totally blowing off your workout , don't feel too bad, I think she is racing a 20 miler next weekend. Although I will admit some of the time goals make me feel bad about my "paltry" sub 10 hours. Than I realized, I have only exceeded 10 hours five times ever and never in February. Also, my monthly high ever is less than some of those goals I see out there. Well, I didn't totally blow off my workout -- just the last 30 minutes. Let's see, what excuses can I come up with... my knees were aching, I needed to get somewhere, etc., etc., etc... See, I can make excuses with the best! And as you say, there is nothing wrong with a 10 hour goal! |
