So, I'll be the first to ask --- who's racing this weekend?

I think I am going to try the 25k on Saturday morning. I'm feeling pretty good. I could play it safe and do the 15k, but I feel like pushing it a little. I'll be doing a run/walk strategy, so I really expect to be fine. I'll take a PB&honey with me. At the 15k point, we're back at the start, and there will be soup and all kinds of goodies. I'll grab a cup of chicken noodle soup, and head back out with it in hand for the final 10k. The weather is going to be amazing. Clear and 55-60 degrees.

ETA: I'm hoping for under 3 hours, but I will take 3 hours on the nose.

Good Luck Felicia. It looks like you have a plan in mind, stick to it and you'll be golden. Enjoy it, it looks like the weather will be cooperating quite nicely.

Oh no, Kate! I'm so sorry to hear about Josie. You may remember me mentioning my mom's best friend runs an orangutan rescue/rehab/reserve in the middle of the national zoo ... we really feel a connection with the other great apes. She sounds like an amazing soul and it was lovely to read what you said about her.

Kate: so sad to hear about Josie.  She sounded very special and dear.  Rest in peace, and may she have an endless supply of her favorite treats in the next life!

Go Felicia!

Go Salty!

Who else?

I am doing a 5K Sat. am (Salem's Veteran Freedom Run/Walk) and have our first home hockey game later that night.  I didn't register the run in the race thingie because it is a small, first year race, but I guess I could.  Hoping for a recent-running history PR (with an asterisk) because the route is partly downhill and the rest of it is flat!!

GO FELICIA!!

GO SALTY!!

GO ME!!

Edited to add: OK, I stopped being a lazy bones and entered my winter running race schedule to my logs.

I'm even hotter when I have my head a la visor over my legs (and trunk for that matter), with compression socks AND tri shorts, and out running with a pink backpack on. It's The Look.

GO MANATEES!!

GO ME!

GO KRISTEN!

I'm running an 8k tomorrow, and Kristen is running a half marathon tomorrow (so is Judi for those of you who know her).  Then we are having brunch!!

It is supposed to be 34 when the race starts at 7 am, 43 at 8, and 47 at 9.  I will finish in 1:15 to 1:30.  Thinking of wearing: pants, long-sleeved shirt, winter-style hat, and gloves.  Does that sound reasonable?

Oh boy! I think you have to draw for your own experiences and how hot or cold you run.

I run in shorts and short sleeve almost year round. I wear something to cover my ears, gloves and arm warmers  when it's closer to freezing but usually discard them a mile or two in (unless it's windy.)

I typically wear shorts/long-sleeves down to about 40, but I'm sick right now.  Don't want to make it worse.  Plus, I think I'm going to spend some time walking because my lungs are crunchy.  I'm worried about being too cold.  Really, my debate is between pants and shorts.  The wait before is pushing me towards pants.

My HM was similar temps, maybe cooler. I did it in capris, a short sleeve tech and gloves. I took the gloves off after about 4 miles

I always go through a seasonal adjustment period where I wear WAYYYYYY too many clothes and end up a schweddy mess by the end of the run.

Capris are an option.  4 miles is when I usually lose gloves, too.  That's practically the finish.
