![]() | ![]() Asalzwed - 2012-07-13 3:57 PM TriAya - 2012-07-13 2:43 PM I need Manatee wisdom! I posted this in CoJ and then realized you guys are definitely smarter. Okay, that's not saying much, considering CoJ, but you know what I mean, hopefully. I need to bring a housewarming gift to a party tomorrow. I'm terrible at this kind of stuff (although individuals love the gifts I give for personal things like birthdays, I'm really foggy on specific things like ... um ... housewarming gifts). Good triathlete friend of mine, guy piglet, married with a cute kid, is having a new house party tomorrow ... Bottle of wine? He's also an avid diver, but what difference does that make? Maybe I could bring something for his little girl? I mean, nobody's going to think of bringing her a present ... AAAAAH help, please, thank you.
It really is up to you. I think it's a cute idea to bring the daugther a little something as the whole thing might be a little confusing for her and, lets be honest, kids love gifts. A bottle of wine is always nice. That kind of depends on how you feel about giving alcohol, too. Someone brought us a little kit with basic house stuff (light bulbs, glue, scissors, picture hanging kit etc.) and it has come in incredibly handy (I am a very utilitarian type.) I'm not sure what is available for you.

It must be so frustrating for you. Great shaved animal pics, they would have made a great pair of slippers. Good luck to all of our Manatee racers TJ, i started out as a coal miner, worked in the family business (wholesaling goods into independent shops), joined the Royal Navy as an officer, navigating aircraft, moved onto being a police officer (uniformed response and drugs team), re-trained to be a landscape gardener and ran my own small business for 8 years, got a few extra qualifications and taught in a small school for 'difficult' children and then re-joined the family business as my dad is moving to semi-retirement, bless him. I now spend part of my day driving a van, delivering around our 600 strong customer base, part of the time in the office doing the accounts/cash work and part of the time looking at ways we can develop the business. Oh man, I hear coal miner and I think Zoolander. Every time. We wore a very fetching orange, much like your inmates (at least the ones i see on telly). And coincidentally, much like what Salty's wearing in her avatar? I'd like to think 'coincidence' but i guess they let her keep them on her release. |

Much better suggestion, gives the volunteers something to laugh at |

Trying to start her early Salty? Hey now, I thought my response was more on the conservative-adult-like side. I didn't even dream of saying what I was really thinking. I will say, when someone brought wine to our housewarming it was poured from the second story window into someone's mouth below. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() ukweeble - 2012-07-13 3:39 PM So, has anyone tried the 'insanity workout'or that px90 thingy? Thinking of changing our spare room into a bit of a training area and one of these programmes could be great to give me the chance to work out whilst i look after my little one. I've done both of them and like Insanity better - it got me in better shape; i wasn't trying to build muscles, which is more p90x; although weight loss certainly happens too. Once my half iron race is over, i will probably do another round of Insanity. |

Ummmm, as you said, bigger is bouncier. 3. Regarding the velocity/acceleration: if they are moving faster than my Garmin says I am moving, I don't want to know. I'm already slower than most, I don't need my boobs to move faster than me too... |

I liked it, and I think men see results a lot faster than women. Some people find Tony Horton annoying, but I didn't mind him. I thought he was less annoying than most DVD coaches. I'm pretty sure I got a discount somewhere - maybe Amazon, or through Beach Body (the company that prodcues it). And the time goes by fast. |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Good luck to all my fellow racers this weekend! This is my first OW tri, so I'm a teensy bit nervous, but I"m just gonna go it at my own pace. Also, it's supposed to be 90 here tomorrow and it's fairly humid, so the unshaded run is most likely going to make my head explode. I'm thinking of wearing my water belt during the 5K, just so that I can drink whenever I want...I"m gonna look like a drama queen but when I"m thirsty, I'm miserable and can't think of anything else!! What the weather looking like for the rest of the racers? |

Wait -- family business doing what? Are you trying to keep it hush hush because it's like the Sopranos' family business? With all the Feds and attornies around here, too much detail could be risky. Lets just say that to all outside appearances, we supply products like Duracell, Rizla, Pantene shampoo, Right Guard/Lynx anti-perspirant, pocket money toys, carrier bags etc to small independent shops like your 7-11's and drug stores. My frequent trips to Scicily are just to source new products, honest. Edited by ukweeble 2012-07-14 2:38 AM |
