I like all of that too, with the exception of KOL. Saw them a few years ago, and was very underwhelmed. YES to The Rev!!!! Never had the privilege to see them but have a couple albums. Love those guys... I saw KOL once too, years prior to their success. Was underwhelmed then too. But the guitar in that song is perfect for getting fired up during a run. BTW very happy someone gets my musical taste!! Its kind of all over the place - lol. You wan't all over the place? I've seen everyone from: Korn, Metallica and A7X, to:The Cure (3 times), Prince, BB King, and Cher. I forgot one that some might like, and some might hate. Ty Segall http://youtu.be/Quou6o05g5A |

I also tend to run with a podcast to get my mind off of things. That being said, I have 3 running music lists available to me...one hasn't been used to the fullest evil extent yet. 1. The past 2 years I've run a Celtic Classic 10K in the fall (see avatar pic), I feel obligated to play Irish drinking music full blast without headphones so that everyone can hear the Irish beer drinking joy if they run near me. Lots of classics on that mix: Whiskey in the Jar, The Old Dun Cow, 7 Old Ladies, Gypsy Rover, Pub with no Beer, you get the idea. 2. Second mix is for angry running with songs like Metallica - Fuel, Van Halen - 5150, Seether - Fake It, Lots of Incubus, AC/DC, etc. 3. The third evil mix was planned for one of the 5K runs that I've been doing at my house the past 4 years. It's a tongue in cheek beer themed 5K run. The idea of this mix would be to psych out those around me, so it's all slow music, Leo Sayer, Air Supply, James Taylor, Harry Chapin, Rick Astley, etc. -Snewo |

189 Quakertown, Pennsylvania | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society - Open For Business Check-in Yet another Monday swim workout lost to weather. This time it was ice. Yesterday became a recharge/refuel day. I rested and tried my best to fight off my desire to over-indulge on calories. I fought the good fight but lost....not too bad though. I weighed myself today after my workout and i can say no harm/no foul I just need to get back in gear. 1 workout into this week. 4.5 Mi run snewoevad is my account on MFP Edited by Snewo 2015-02-10 9:11 PM |

21 | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society - Open For Business Hi, I would love to join again this year if you'll have me. Though until my birthday (Mid april) there won't be any beer as I am trying out a strict paleo diet to see how I feel on it. After that I hope to be able to at least enjoy some beer. Bio you are hoing to get anyway :P NAME: Tonje or Crafty STORY: I have been overweight my entire life, and have been trying to lose weight more or less since I was 10. Now I have managed to change my outlook some and focus more on fat loss and muscle and endurance building. I stumbled across triathlon as a side effect of reading books about running, and I was doing that to be motivated because my kickboxing coach told me to run more to build endurance. I remembered having watched a documentary about Norseman and thinking how cool it would be to do that one day. FAMILY STATUS: I am engaged but we are living on different continents (Me Europe her US). Hopefully her visa will come through sometime in 2015 and we will live together as well. I also have half a poodle (apperently the half that poops) but he lives with her. CURRENT TRAINING: A begining program here on BT. Currently around 2-3 hours a week 2014 RACES: I only did a 5k run RACES PLANNED FOR 15: I signed up for my first Tri. It is a brand new triathlon in the town close to where I grew up. I signed up for the short distance (500m swim, 20km bike, 5km run) and I think the bike will be the hardest part. I also have a 5k run on my plan and I might add one more race, haven't figured it all out yet. BEER PREFERENCE: I will drink just about anything but my favorite styles are saison, gueuze, and IPA. I also make beer, and just brewed a saison porter that I'm hoping will motivate me heading into the new year. WEIGHT LOSS: In 2012, I lost 96 pounds. Over the past two years, I've put back 40 pounds of it. Hoping to eat a little better so I can squeeze into my wet suit by Mother's Day (my first race of the season). |

I figured even if I suck at yoga, I can still drink a good beer while sucking. Turns out it wasn't as bad as I expected. I hung with them all the way until some child birthing pose at the end. My goal is to make this a weekly thing. |

21 | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society - Open For Business Oops. I copied the first message and was editing to add my bio and then I got distracted at work and thought I was done. That is what I get for checking the forum at work. Sorry about that. Beer preference: IPAs. Weight loss story: up and down. More up than down. I don't want to jinx it but this paleo thing seems to work for now. |

1007 DeLand, Florida | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society - Open For Business Love the diversity of musical tastes. Even when something isn't my personal cup of tea I love music and I love to see people getting fired up over what they like. Workout update for me - 2/? and one bike workout in the books. Did my threshold run to set my HR zones (apparently I can sustain 7:50 pace for 20 mins - who knew?), followed by 4.4mi on the Expresso bike at about 18mph. That was hard work after the threshold run, for me... |

256 | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society - Open For Business Finally some good news for the first time in a month! The surgeon felt my eye was healing as well as could possibly be expected and I am allowed to very, very gradually resume normal activity!!!! I don't know what that is going to look like yet....I have to stop anything the moment I have pain...but hey, it's better than sitting around with my face staring in my lap. :-) I will be curious to see what's happened to my run fitness over the past month....I do think my last run was almost exactly a month ago. I'm not going to push much this week, maybe a few quarter miles here and there on a dog walk, up to a mile if no pain. If that goes well I'll do a 2 miler next week. My other goal is to build in gym time this year. I'll be able to call it PT/OT I think and use sick time at work for it...but I think a very critical component of my recovery is going to be building very solid core strength and a good sense of balance. I've never been bad in that department but now it just will have to be a constant focus for safety's sake. The Oaklies sound like winners, so I will definitely check them out. Went to REI last night and picked up a couple of pairs of Trifosi glasses. One has several interchangeable lenses and one has polarized lenses. Really, the next few months will be VERY experimental. Regular 866 Central Coast, CA | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society - Open For Business Good to hear, Sandi! I also have some good news on the PF recovery front, my podiatrist cleared me for some light running so long as I stretch and ice my foot after each run. Add in a night splint (he wants more stability than the Straussberg sock offers) and we'll see where I'm at in 6 weeks. To supplement the light running I plan on utilizing the gym's elliptical machines for added cardio when I can't get out on my bike. My next registered event (local half-marathon) is now only 2 months away so I need to get my running legs back under me! Keep up the good work everyone, it's great to see all the progress reports |

Member 3145 Carbondale, Illinois | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society - Open For Business Sooooo tired here today. Yesterday's triple (spin/run in the morning, racquetball in the evening) just about did me in. Feeling the after effects today, so changed my planned swim workout to a recovery walk around our campus lake at lunch time (52/400) and thinking about some yoga tonight when I get home, but am not going to sweat it if that doesn't happen. My month old Brooks Dyad 8's started falling apart last night. The insole's are splitting in half and the rubber is slowly pilling and falling out. Should have returned them when I first got them and wasn't feeling it. Called the store and they were super great--bring them in, we'll make it right. Of course, store is four hours away where my in-laws live, so probably just going to have to eat these and get new running shoes asap. Grrrrrr. |

Expert 925 Timmins, ON. Canada | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society - Open For Business Hey Guys! Been awhile, but it seems everyone is doing well. Finished up my weight loss challange at work in 2nd place with 14 lbs lost between Jan 1st and Feb 9th. So I didnt win the 80 dollar purse to put towards a new bike jersey, having said that I think the design and look is getting better and better. I am in for one, whenever we can get together an order and get that all figured, let me know. Really liking the music post started by DQ, I like all types of music, and it is definitely an integral part of my workout. Here are some songs that get me going, I usually trend towards the Hip-hop, EDM for exercise, but I like everything! Ni**a's in Paris - Kanye and Jay-Z Express Yourself- Diplo feat. Nicky Da B The Crawl - Childish Gambino Strobe - Deadmau5 Dirty Vibe - Skrillex Take U There - Jack-U feat. Kiesza M.A.A.D. City - Kendrick Lamar Terrified - Rural Alberta Advantage Just a small sampling of my music library, always looking for new stuff and I have a list of the songs listed by you guys to check out! Hit the pool last night and just did a 1000m time trial, 22:47 was my effort and it felt good, but I am really looking forward to getting back under 20 minutes for 1000m. No real beer drank lately, but we may be doing a trip out of the North this weekend, so I may sneak into a few breweries if we do and pick up some 'Rewards'! |

1941 , Vermont | Subject: RE: Beer Drinker Appreciation Society - Open For Business Originally posted by fifthcircle Although I LOVE music, I'm a fan of working out to things that keep my mind off of "the pain". Music doesn't do this enough for me, so I listen to podcasts. 99% of the time it's Zen and the Art of Triathlon. Sometimes I listen to The Brewing Network (Sunday session is funny, and Brewing With Style is informative when I'm researching a beer style I have not brewed). So, I will just post some music that I really dig you all might not have heard before. Reverend Horton Heat. (My favorite band of all time. I've seen them 13 times.) http://youtu.be/H96XcNWKZVg?list=PL2cQaEGnZhwlahf9HGj2wfV9X5X4nAa2Z Biffy Clyro. http://youtu.be/vre24cZmMUM?list=PL4BC115CA8746823F Imagine Dragons (aka: the GoPro song.... LOL!) http://youtu.be/ktvTqknDobU Deke Dickerson http://youtu.be/9hk71-P2LKA Lot's of other stuff, that I can't remember at the moment. firebert's list is AWESOME! I like all of that too, with the exception of KOL. Saw them a few years ago, and was very underwhelmed. I'm on MyFitnessPal.... fifthcircle. I will start logging my horrible eating choices on there. Love Reverend Horton Heat!! I followed them around to a few shows. Good times. I was a total groupie and hung out with the band. Nice guys. Reel Big Fish is another fun one. |
