Hotel and plane flight are booked! Leaving 10/23 coming back 10/26. I heart SW airlines...

You can do IMs.... or, you can just jog, ride your bike a bit and go to Disneyland instead

Average daily high in Anaheim in Oct - 80F

Are you implying that there's more to life than triathlon?

I have to admit I'm a little jealous. Where are you staying? We went over the break between Christmas and New Years last year, and although it was nice, we wound up going to D-land on the day they posted a record for attendance. Apparently, they closed the entrance shortly after we went in. So. Crowded.

Take advantage of the ride express lines -- where you "reserve" a spot at a later time. I wish we had done that.

And, if you can make reservations at the little restaurant near the Pirates ride, that might be nice for dinner. We didn't plan ahead enough, and wound up having a mediocre dinner at one of the places in the old town area.

Disneyland Grand Californian. They're running a fall special for $269/night.

Dawn/The Blonde wanted a vacation... her X would never go anywhere. They went to Dland one day several years ago and he complained the whole time. I, OTOH, love vacation. Its the only reason some days I get up to go to work.

I have been to Disneyland before, in 1977, as a rather sullen teen for part of one day. I imagine its changed a little bit...

Well, I guess it's about time for both of you to go back and enjoy it a bit more this time.  Does sound like a lot of fun.

Weird!  I was in D-land in 1977 too!  I was the cute little seven year old with a striped shirt, and a little sister who was too young to ride the rides.    That was an interesting trip, even for me at that age.  We borrowed a big car, and drove the whole way from Louisiana to California, with both my dad's and my mom's mother in the car.  There were never two different types of grandmothers that you could get to be in the same car at the same time.  Oh, the memories!

My ex could never AFFORD to go on vacation, but that never really stopped him.  Of course, he'd never go where I wanted to go.  And, if he did, he would complain the whole time too.

Spokes - 2008-07-25 7:37 PM With plane fare, hotel, 3 day pass its about 1800 bucks. But hey, you can't put a price on a good time, right? Lots of folks drop that on an IM race by the time you pay for the race fee... which is usually 400 bucks or so, plane fare can be anywhere from 3-800 depending on how far you fly, + hotel for a few days. And doing this activity requires 0 training. I like that.

It's only money.

And it's not like you're doing this every weekend, and putting yourself into financial ruination over it.  It's important to her, and she's important to you.

Hey kids.

Criterium racing is cool. Me & a friend might try it next year. So is beer whilst watching said racing.

Autocross and 311 concert tomorrow, most likely followed by heavy drinking. I have to, one of my best friends (practically family) is coming in town tomorrow...

I'm having an ice-cream sandwich as in ice-cream on bread for breakfast. But it's wholewheat, so is that okay?

hey folks...

finished a tri today... which is probably the best I can say about it... that and my transitions were good. T2 under a minute.  Bike course was great... nothing really flat, but no crazy hills in it.  Trying to chill out for a bit... but the wife wants me to do some yard work... woo hoo.

I also need to work on my sermon for tomorrow as it will need some props... all to fit in with our VBS program...
