lyssa-gator - 2008-02-19 8:30 PM allrighty scissors. planning a good long run tomorrow, julie i'm FREAKING out that you ran 12 miles today!! you're me freaking hero--you and paula radcliffe!! steve-awesome for 7th in AG you totally rock, frank-clearly we should be on a swim team together, i got the sink thing down PAT!! actually, i'm freaking out about biking, i DETEST my bike, i need a new one REALLY really bad, and hopefully i can get one this year, but i think i'll have to do at LEAST my first race on my old crappy one. being that i hate it, i just don't get on it, which is no good. i ride my mom's stationary sometimes, but it's not enough, i HAVE to get on me dang bike! ok, end of rant, how's everyone else doing this foine evening??

Allyssa...time to get a new bike! there are lots of good used ones out there! what are you riding now? Go get em on your long run....are you being the good pace booty that you usually are? or are you packing a six shooter!?!?

LOL no six shooter for me. actually i think we came to a compromise, and i agreed to carry bear spray. i don't have any YET, so he's going to pace car with me tomorrow, hopefully i can pick up some bear spray sometime this week. i have to be careful though, getting a VS shipment sometime this week too!! *OH NO!!!!!* LOL

I found pepper spray online that's small enough to carry on a run and it has an elastic strap so you can put it on your arm or your hand w/o holding it.  If you actually need it, you won't have time to fish it out of your pocket.  Just make sure you know which way it's aiming before you squeeze the trigger

I went to the gym during a break today.  Did a run-bike-run workout.  Ended up doing 3 miles running total and 4.27 miles today.  Good workout, but I'm definitely tired.

had a run, a shower, and hit fred meyer. so i'm good now.
run was hard, the whole first mile was uphill, totally greuling, and i don't think i had had enough breakfast because i definately felt it when my fuel was used up. but it was good. going to log miles, then see if i can get dh to give my calf a rub-it's been really tight for the last few weeks, and i don't really know why.

I am amazed with this team right now.  I just went into the spreadsheet to check on everyone's progress for the month.  Right now, we should all be at 68% or higher.  14 of 19 people have 68% or higher for the month!!  The other 5 people are just short of that.

Congratulations to everyone for all of their hard work!!  You guys rock!!

team leader is a rock star,
cheerleaders, and inspires are HUGE.
but i have to say, it's been dh that's kept me going this month, and today, i almost killed him for it!! LOL
i was running up hill, and he was my pacing me in the car, and i was ALMOST at my threshold for pain and uphill running, and he starts chit chatting out the window at me. so NATURALLY i gave him the finger, and sprinted up ahead of the car, so he'd leave me alone. THEN when i was ready to stop, i told him to stop so i could get in the car, and he said, No, you can keep going a little farther, don't stop yet. and he pulled another half mile out of me.
he's gotten me out the door when i haven't wanted to go, he encourages me (all be it in not always such the nicest ways ) and i totally appreciate him taking time out of his day, with ALL THREE KIDS IN THE CAR, to drive with me while i run. it's a big deal. he's got his issues to be sure, but he's been a big help to me this month, especially since it's feb and i tend to get the winter blahs in feb.
between him and you guys, i'm doing all right. i think if i hadn't had you all and dh, i would have spent most of this month in bed
thanks for all the help and inspiration guys, scissors ROCK!!

I'm scheduled to run tomorrow, but wintery weather is making it look like it might not be safe. Friday might be even worse. Looks like I may have to put my run off until Saturday. Unfortunately, I was planning to take Saturday off since we're celebrating our anniversary with massages and dinner.

Just wait until next month. (Assuming Cat organizes the challenge, that is....)

Peep. Peep. Peep.

Yep. It's all about marshmallow PEEPS. Yeah, the ones that you always see around Easter-time. Yes - those brightly-colored, all artificial ingredients, microwaving expanding little PEEPS.

Well, it was all about them last night during our discussion. But the world looks different during the daylight hours, and off Nibbs. LOL
