LeahDD - 2010-08-07 8:30 AM I guess I'm a dodo.  I can't put x's in the boxes.  I mean, I did it the first couple days, but now I can't.  Anyway, if someone wants to go and give me x's for the 5th and 6th, that would be great.  Thanks.

All Set!

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you all are having a great weekend!! It's been kind of dreary here but I guess I need to just start accepting this type of weather as normal, huh?!

Leah ~ I haven't used any YouTube videos for abs but here is a link to some ideas, compliments of our very own BT! ?

I should really know more than I do.  My boyfriend has it and his dad is an orthopedic surgeon, but my boyfriend is the type who doesn't want to do the rehab so he just deals with it.  I did some research to try to find the rehab exercises his dad told him to do as they are hard to describe.

Here's a little about impingement: http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/cybertherapist/front/shoulder/impingement/assessment.php

And here's some rehab exercises: http://www.sportsinjuryclinic.net/cybertherapist/front/shoulder/impingement/strengthening.php

From that website, the external shoulder rotation is one of the one my boyfriend's dad said is really good but he said to do it standing (instead of lying as on that website) and use an exercise band tied to a door knob for resistance rather than weights.  I hope that makes sense.

Sorry I couldnt be more helpful but I hope it at least helps you a little bit.

Happychick - 2010-08-03 11:36 PM Hello? Where is everyone? I don't want to carry on a conversation with myself

Anyway, I gotta say that had it not been for this challenge I would NOT have done my abs and most likely my last set of PT either! I had completely forgot about it and was getting ready to lay down and chill out when I remembered I hadn't done either one yet. I was about to say screw it when I thought about the challenge. Needless to say, I got my butt up and did both! Amazing what a little team motivation will do for ya!

this was me last night....I was in bed and realized I didn't get it in...out of bed, drop to the floor and got my 10 min in!

and something tells me that had the challenge not been going on you would have thought oh crap! then rolled over and gone to sleep, huh?!?

yep!

hey washboards! Sorry I have been MIA! Very busy weekend,  fri was 6 flags with the kids...all day! Then 14miler and 2 parties on sat and volunteering for a tri that didn't happen due to weather!  Sad to say I did not get my core in on Fri   I was so tired when we got home I sat down and fell asleep! I have a very busy week ahead too. School reg. for the kids and books for me, also subbing a lot of classes, but I will get my core in!

Thank you Michelle, for the links.  I will do some of those tonight.

And I did get in my core workout last night.  If someone could update the spreadsheet for me, I would be grateful.  I think I am 6/8 so far and have every expectation of doing core tonight.

Standings after the first week:

1. Washboard 21.94%
2. No More Love Handles 18.06%
3. Six Packs 13.23%

Good job everyone. Keep on working on your core and inspiring your team mates that need a little push.

Speaking of which. We do have a couple of challenge participants, that have yet to log their first workout. I sent them the message below today as a PM.

Hello,

This is a friendly reminder that you signed up for the August Core Challenge, but so far, you haven't logged any workouts in the spreadsheet.

Please log your workouts by tomorrow night or I will take you out of the challenge to keep things fair for the teams.

Thanks,

Kathrin

Got in another core workout tonight.  It looks like we are going to win, as long as we maintain our current momentum.

Thanks Emma! I've been doing internal and external shoulder rotations and it seems to ache more when I do those...I go back in another week to see my ortho so we'll see what he says!

I used to do this all the time and some of them are REALLY hard but you're right...at least it's something different (if not challenging!)

Hey Gang! Sorry I've been MIA the last few days...I just really haven't had it in me to get on the computer. Anyway, I updated the spreadsheet and am sorry to say that I did miss one day of abs. I just haven't been feeling 100% and one day I just slept as much as I possibly could.
Anyone racing this weekend?
