How many countries have you been to? (Page 4)

Wow. I am the world's most boring person :D My husband travels overseas a lot for work (primarily BeNeLux, but Germany, France, Italy, etc.); he also dated a girl before me whose family sent them on  several two week cruises. So he has TONS of countries. I may have to steal his :p

I live in the US. I've been to:

Italy

Vatican City (but really, that's just Rome, IMO)

Despite living in MN and being near the border often, I've never been to Canada--UNLESS you count the BWCA/Quetico area. I've been in Canadian wilderness a lot. :p

I've also never been to Detroit, so that one's out, too :p

India: The plane from Bangkok to Bhutan stopped in Calcutta. We were waiting for some transfers and the AC on the plane wasn't working. It was a nice breezy morning so they let us stand/sit on the boarding steps and tarmac near the plane. Not sure if that counts!

I'm not picky--have found something to like about every country on the list. If I had to pick favorites, USA (of course), Italy, Austria, Laos, Bhutan, Myanmar (nice people, beautiful place, crap govt.), New Zealand. Some of the eastern European countries were pretty grim economy and food-wise when we went, but the region as a whole has good, cheap beer!

Oops, I forgot Finland and Sweden!

12. China (1 trip, but we went back and forth between Hong Kong a few times, so MANY border crossings)

I can't believe that's it.   I have been to these countries too many times, I need to branch out.  Oh wait, my next trip is planned for France.  Shoot.

It's fun to visit Europe these days, since most countries (EU or not) go along with the Schengen Agreement allowing internal border crossings to be uncontrolled.  The last group of countries was added in 2006.  We experienced this last year on our bike trip, which was handy since my husband lost his passport in Germany and we had to travel from there, through Liechtenstein, and on to Austria the next day.  No biggie.
