Veteran 509 Oak Park, IL | Subject: RE: Sale on Javelin complete bikes I talked with Geoff at 4:53 CT on Thursday and was told he had all the multisport bikes in all the sizes including the Narni in a 51 (which is what I was looking at for a friend). |

Pro 4089 Without house | Subject: RE: Sale on Javelin complete bikes RickLapinski - 2008-03-13 11:25 AM I didn't have to sign for mine, it was on the front porch, it was nice to have it there, however, anyone could have driven by and picked it up. I'm thinking a call to Fed Ex may be in order, unless I was supposed to tell Javelin to ship it differently? I didn't tell them to ask for a signature (I often do, but I didn't in this case). I don't know if they did it automatically or what... After reading about the sizing (specifically Sty who is 5'10" getting the 51 and it fitting) I'm feeling better about the size I ordered. I had talked to Dave and he'd recommended a 57, but then I spoke to the person who will be doing my fit, and he recommended a 55. I ended up with the 54 because the 55's came with 650 wheels, and Geoff figured I'd be better off with the 54 that came with the 700 wheels, and that there was virtually no difference because of how they measure. Even still, if it doesn't fit, I can sell the frame and get another one in the correct size...and I'll have some pretty sweet components to put on it. |

Veteran 177 Albany, NY | Subject: RE: Sale on Javelin complete bikes I just bought the Fara, myself. First road bike ever! I never thought I'd get components like this within my $600 budget. According to the fit calculators online, and in relation to the specs on the bikes I've test ridden, it seems like the measurements of the Fara aren't too far off -- so I'm confident the fit will be workable. Just a little concerned about the standover on the 51cm (I have a 31" inseam, so it should work, I think?) I am beyond stoked right now. (Last night, I tried to convince my wife of six months to let me buy a Fara and a Narni [save on shipping!], even though its my first season doing tris. She still has some hang-ups regarding the cost of this sport, so she didn't bite.) |

Elite 3650 Laurium, MI | Subject: RE: Sale on Javelin complete bikes i'm looking at the sizzano and the varese. Anyone know the differences between the two frames besides one has campy and the other is 105? I'm 6' and think I'd be on a 56cm Anyone 6' and order one of these frames? Would a 55 in the sizzano be a closer fit then a 57 on the varese? Anyone know if they still have them in these sizes? I'd call but it's sunday |

I'd call but it's sunday I ordered the Narni...was originally going to go with the 57 (I'm 6'1", but spoke with someone who sold Javelins and he recommended the 55 (didn't want me to be sitting with the aerobars in my face because I could just barely clear the seat). I ended up getting a 54 because the 55 had 650 wheels and the 54 has 700. I was a little afraid at first, but I have it mostly assembled, and believe it to be a good size. I still have to get a fit done, but I think it was a good call.

I'd call but it's sunday After talking with Dave for a while early last week I (who am 6' 0.5") decided the 57 would be a good fit in the Narni. Mind you I ride a 58 road bike and that they measure a bit differently. I am interested to hear about how much construction is needed as I have both a funky Narni (originally was thinking Varese but the upgrades on the Narni were just too tough to turn down) which they found and a Parma on it's way (I couldn't resist and bought the Parma as a city beater). Great deals all throughout them. -David |

Expert 795 Oak Ridge, | Subject: RE: Sale on Javelin complete bikes Spoke with them earlier today and ordered a Parma for my son. His first road bike. Got through right away, spoke with Geoff who was writing up another order and said he'll call me back later in afternoon. He called me back 30 minutes later. While ordering my son's bike he had to excuse himself 3 times as phone was ringing off hook. |

Extreme Veteran 563 Pekin, IL | Subject: RE: Sale on Javelin complete bikes Seems like sizing is all over the place on these. I pretty sure of the size for me, but the one for my dad has me concerned the more I read and think. He is 5' 9.5" with an inseam of 31. He is in his 50's but in good shape. I spoke with Geoff at Javelin and he suggested a 57 (Varese). Which is also what he suggested for me 5'11" 32 Inseam. His reason was that it is better for your first tri bike to be a little too big than too small. I think the 55 has 650 wheels, so it would not be an option. So our choices for him are 54 or 57. I don't want him, at 50 something, to be squshed on his first tri bike. All the geometry numbers are Greek to me. What do you all think? Our bikes don't ship out until tomorrow so there may still be time to make a change. Thanks, Chris |

, Texas | Subject: RE: Sale on Javelin complete bikes I'm a bit quesy right now. I bought a Varese which will be replacing my antiquated '95 Klein Aeolus. I'm quesy because even though I've had it only 2 years, I love that old bike. But I couldn't pass up this deal to get a brand new bike. Edited by camy 2008-03-17 8:21 PM |

I'm 6'1" with a 34" inseam (ie same trunk size as you two) and my current tri bike has a 57cm top tube length. I think I may be a smidge stretched out on it and have ordered a 57cm Varese which has a 56cm top tube. IMHO, this is the most important measurement for bike to rider compatibility. I think y'all will be fine. |
