Good question. It's usually Sunday, but I don't recall Jen specifying that. I've just left a question for her on the Atoms team thread.

Sorry for any confusion.  Please update the spreadsheets by the end of the day Sunday.

I will post an update tomorrow.

So my foot was feeling pretty good so I thought I'd go for a little run to test 'er out yesterday.  Left the house with the kiddo in the jogging stroller for a 20 min run.  The first 10 minutes was great, the last 10 minutes - not so much.  Does anyone have any experience with PF?  How long did you rest it?  How long does it take to go away - if ever? What would the doc tell me? (or would a vet be more appropriate, given I'm a Moose now :P)

I'm really frustrated right now because I'm new to tri and was really starting to enjoy running.  Any advice is appreciated.  Thanks Team!

My understanding is that all you can do for PF is rest, at least that's what the docs told a couple of friends of mine. I found that I was edging toward PF toward the end of a 1/2 marathon training plan and really made a point to stretch A LOT more than normal and really focus on the backs of the legs and yoga stretches that go down into your foot too and that seemed to help me a lot (I never stretch generally, I know, not good, so maybe you already do that though).

I updated the tracker after a nice workout today.  My first brick.  Bike 8.25 miles, ran 2.  Nice weather finally!

Weather sidetracked me a little this weekend.  Saturday the sky opened up and my plans for a 50 mile bike ride were dashed.  However, I did get 50 miles in yesterday (the last 15 were in the rain, but it wasn't a gully washer like the day before).  Hopefully this week I can stay on track!

I don't want to upset you but when I had PF it took a very long time to heal. What finally got me back running again were orthodics. Ten years later I am still running with those orthodics and have had no more bouts with PF.

Long as in weeks or months?  Did you get prescription orthotics or OTC?

It was around 2-3 months. Then by a miracle somebody recomended this foot doctor that was also a track coach at one of the local colleges. They made a mold of my feet and made me custom orthodics. I know what your going thru. Mine got so bad I hated to put my feet on the floor to get out of bed in the morning.

You might find some good information in the injuries thread here on BT.  I know lots of people battle this.  I had it once, a long time ago, and it did take a long time to go away.  That was before I was running--in those days I was just heavy and wearing the wrong shoes.

Hey Mooseses--we are doing pretty well in the standings...in another week I will bet we can move into first place!  I was on a recovery week for most of last week, so my numbers are much higher coming up.  My shoulder is feeling better, as well, so I am not worried about the swim now.  I swam an hour yesterday and didn't get one twinge.  And I do think we get double for races, which will definitely help most of us!

We need a lot more chatter on here, though!  And inspires!  I will get to those soon--probably not much until tomorrow as I have a super busy day happening here, but I am sending out good vibes to y'all now anyway!

What a great ocean swim. Got a good 2 miles in. The current was a little wicked, so we got sucked out a little farther into the ocean than we normally do. my comfort zone was pushed a little, but did just fine. I think we were like a mile from shore.

Good job in the first week everyone! and I think we're all set for moving into first in the future :-)

Just back from a pool swim with a very large man in the lane next to me-- seriously creating waves, which since I am too scared to try and OWS in the ocean at this point, might have been good practice!

Another good way of getting comfortable is swimming in a pool without lane lines.

Alright!  Good start to the challenge - forth place isn't too shabby.  I've got a busy week this week work/school wise, so my goal is to do my best to stick to my training plan.  I have a 5K on saturday so I'll get to count that as double time.  Anyone else racing this weekend?

2 questions:

How can I update the spreadsheet...I can read it but can't change it.

And- What days are included each week - Monday - Sunday?

Tanks!

The challenge is also cumulative.  Just make sure that your totals reflect progress fo the whole month by the end of Sunday, if that makes sense.

I have a 5K on Saturday too.  It's just a warm up race for me, so I'm not stressing over it too much.  However, my training has been very sporadic over the last month or so because of work, so it may end up being more stressful than I think.

Oh well, I guess the best that all of us can do is stick to the plan when able?

Ok, 4th place isn't that bad and a few hadn't logged anything yet. Let's push it and move on up the standings. Did a little swimming and running yesterday. HOpe for swim/lift/bike tonight.

Hi, I'm one of those who hasn't logged anything yet, but I have been training!! (promise ) I'll try to update the spreadsheet tonight.

My name is Gill, I live in the UK (so I'm 5-7 hours ahead of most of you) and between work, my daughter (11 months now), my husband and training there's not a lot of time left over. This is my second season of tri (with a year's rest in between) and I'm signed up for 2 sprint tris - the first in less than 6 weeks!
