Cancelled only if there is severe enough weather to warrant it. This would be something like a bunch of lightning, hail, and/or tornadoes. Other than that, it will go on. Cold is no reason to cancel, nor rain. If a race is cancelled, postponements are very rare. Getting the venue, timing company, police staff, city approval etc is slim so races are generally just cancelled or not. |

A small word of warning. There is a metal plate in the roadway on the corner of 1709 and Keller Smithfield. It should be dry tomorrow, but be aware that the 1st turn of the rectangle has a hazard. It's almost certain that you will have to ride over it.

thanks Steve... They said at packet pickup today that they had 600 people sign up, I'm not sure how many they usually get or if the weather will keep some away... I'll look for ya though |

Most of the time they do it according to your submitted swim time. If you failed to put one or signed up late, you may have been put at the back since they already finalized most of the race numbers. |

Gary makes an extremely valid point here. I am a little jealous of your number. Granted I'm 289 so I won't exactly be the first one out there myself. That'll be Mandy and Andrew! Have fun with that guys! |

I think the course was fine, but the rain & cold made it seem 10 times harder. I didn't realize it was a totally different course than what it was last year for the Old College Tri in Southlake. This was at a different swimming facility which was no big deal, but I think the bike and run courses were a little harder (more hills). |

Can somebody please post the link if they know it. Looking back at those comment about starting later in the field. YES - I was #29 and my toes where completely numb on the bike and did not get to feel them until about 1 mile into the run. |

I was nice and toasty! Of course I wasn't trying to place either, just finish below 1:40. Not sure if I made that goal or not since I haven't seen the results. First tri -- completed! That was fun - I know I need to train smarter/harder for my next one! --- Wes |
