The race is less than 2 weeks away and I may have to change to a different bike brand! Ugh!

What happened to your bike?

The bike is fine. I need to switch to a brand that the bike shop who sponsors me sells.

That's why I'm not sponsored. Yeah right.

I'm totally psyched! I just gotta hit the pool this week to make sure I haven't lost TOO much fitness :/

Lets hope the water temp warms up this week... it said it was only 56 when I checked! brrrrrr

I've had a bad, cold for the past week. Minimal training. Just got a run in today. Hope to test some lake water soon.

Ugh thats some bad luck on the cold! Hopefully you'll be 100% by race day though! I just got sick as well actually, missed 3 days of training in the middle of peaking, but I'm coming around now, got in my last 'intense' workout today before resting for the race.

Only one more week before the first race of my tri season!  I'm getting excited and hope everyone else is as well, hope everybody's training is going well, hope to see some fast times out there next week

Got in Canandaigua lake today. Water temperature was 57. First time in a wetsuit. I was really surprised. It wasn't bad at all. I was very, nervous about this upcoming weekend. Goggles and swim cap. It was about 54 degrees out and 15 mph winds. The water was pretty, choppy. Glad I went.

anyone got some good dinner suggestions for Saturday night?

the family will be w/ me, so kid friendly would be great.....

Bringing a bum knee to the start, but I'm still jazzed to get the season started. Have my sights set on other races down the road, so hopefully I can use this a chance to get the kinks out of the system without aggravating my gimpy knee too much.

Was hoping to see the water temp a few clicks higher, but earplugs and a neoprene lid will help out quite a bit.

Just found out that the wife has to work Sunday morning. So now I'm scrambling to find someone to watch the kids from early Sunday morning until early afternoon or no race.

1) We run a bag free, bucket free, and clutter free transition area. Please only bring in what you need to race and make arrangements to take everything else out of the transition area. This ensures we have enough space for all athletes."


So does that mean no transition bags in the transition area?

Yes that is what they want. They pack a lot of people into transition...it gets pretty tight!

I'll be there doing the olympic distance. Maybe I'll run into some of you.

Does BT do any type of table or anything at this race?  Just wondering if there is a place where a large group of BT's might be hanging out pre/post race.

Nothing official, but assuming I'm able to find someone to watch my kids that morning, I'll be there with an EZ-UP. It'll be easy to spot, it will be the one with the BT banner.

I will watch for it.  Good luck with finding the sitter.

Did my first OWS swim tonight in Keuka Lake.  Ir wasn't as cold as I expected--temp was 56 deg.  Wore a sleeveless suit and a neoprene cap.  Did a 15 minute out and back loop on the south end of the lake.  Hopefully I covered close to the sprint distance.

Now I am really looking forward to Sunday!

I wore a sleeveless suit sans neoprene cap last year and was fine. Once you get moving you warm right up!
