Hey, looks like I'll be in Pinehurst for a week in August! Bring your clubs, BonBonQueen and kiddies! (Guess I should clear that with my sis...)

Of course, after 3 defeats at the hands of women, you might not want to walk on the golf course with me. Unless you're a glutton for punishment.

Oh, are you finally weaned off the ladies' tees?

Does Neaser play? I'm sure we could gather a set of clubs for her. My sis plays, the boys play. Could be quite the playdate!

I was scheduled for a 75.0 mile ride and because of this challenge and my bet with Whizzer, I decided to go another 17.2 in the rain. No excuses guys -- time to put up some big numbers.

Dude, you couldn't squeeze out another 6.3 to log a big 1-0-0 for the 'boners.

J/K of course, good ride!

No excuses guys -- time to put up some big numbers.

Are these numbers to be improved upoin in the "August Bike Challenge"? =)

Reading through the numbers ... we are ~ 1/3 of the way through the month and quite a few folks are approaching 50% of their miles. Either we did not set high enough goals, or we (the boners) are just getting the miles out of the way early.

Q: Is this a "bike specialization" month for most of the participants, or are most people keeping their same frequency and balance with all three disciplines?

----------------------------------

Personal update, 6/11 = 85/275 (31%). After I get home from a Legion double-header Sunday, I'll ride another 15, and be at 6/12 = 97/275 (35%), and June will be 40% over. Better pick up the pace a bit.

It will sound like an excuse, but it was raining, I was cold and out of fluids. Plus, Ms. Thunder expected my home about an hour before and she had someplace to go so I needed to watch my son.

So the answer is no, I couldn't get 7 more in. I would have suffered the fate of the "cut-off" if I had made her late for her function. Contest be damned, I am not going through the "cut-off."

Not even for you bear.

I am trying to keep my volume in running and swimming up as well. I will drop on my swimming this month because May was a swimming focus month. I will actually be running more this month than last. My 1/2 IM is in July, so I am trying to peak about the end of this month in all three areas. Then on to my most hated event of all...

The taper.

Not even if "The Boners" were standing aroung making *meow* and *whip* sounds?

I say that laughing, b/c even at 31yo, those darn *meow* sounds from the buddies work virtually every time (even in the face of common sense). Do we ever really grow up?

Not even if the Gear Goddesses joined you in your cat-calls.

Ryan, I am 34 and I have been married 10 years. The way I look at it, I am not having sex with any of my buddies. I have to be respectful of her schedule as well so I can get that post ride "high" sometime tonight.

51% of the way there (228 miles), and it's only the 12th of the month.  I do have one concern though: I've got races on back to back weekends this month which will cut into my long ride. Not to worry though men. I never make a promise I can't keep.

My 35 miles today became 26 miles.  Flatted in the middle of nowhere with no flat kit....the kind of mistake you only make once.

I am doing a 1/2 at the end of the month, well Aug 3.

Well of course it couldn't be THIS month, Man....

So I am trying to get the mileage in early so I can taper.

I was a little optimistic with my totals!!

Oh well.

After the ride today I am a little nervous it was a tough ride, anyway I put 90km. toward the goal

Lets go Bones!!!
