50 mile bike ride followed by 2 mile run.  Longest ride yet, and it felt great.  Maintained a 16.6 pace - which is right on track with my goal for the HIM, then ran the 2 miles in a little under 9 minute miles.  Thanks for the encouragement, I needed a kick in the pants to go do this long ride.  Next week - 55 and 10k.

According to the map it looks like you were swimming in a blender.  Nice splits.

If you've room for 2 more I'd like to join up me and my mate (he's got no net access til Sunday!)
My bio:
Name: Stavros

Story: My background is a little different to most. I entered a 3k fun run in July 2009 to see if I could complete it and was thoroughly unimpressed with my result (19min which I walked for at least half of, and it turned out to only be 1.5miles). This motivated me to find a training plan for a 5k run later in the year and found this site. One thing lead to another and a mate and I ended up entering 3 sprints that year.

FAMILY STATUS: With girlfriend for 4 yrs

CURRENT TRAINING: Running 4x/week, swimming 2-3x/week and cycling 4x/week

2010 RACES: Signed up for 2 pool based sprints and the London sprint but due to a bike accident 10 days before the last pool sprint, I had to miss that one out.

2011 Races: Sprint on 17th April. The rest are not finalised yet, but will include a couple more sprints and my first Oly.

WEIGHTLOSS: I've never really be concerned with my weight as it has almost always been around the 140lb mark.

Goals: Get my swimming to an almost respectable standard, do better in the first sprint race I did last year (17th April), improve my cycling and running and, if there's time after all that, finish the Oly!

Adam (Blinddave) will post when he get's back

Amazing at how fast fitness goes!!

Morning's run was something like this: 1.25mi WU (big hill at 1 so we go to the crest), 2x1.5 tempo (#1 8:40-8:50, #2 8:30-8:40) with 0.5mi RI, 1mi easy finish

The effort to hit those paces was much much harder than it was back in Feb when I was in the half marathon training. Taking 6 weekends out for classes has really hurt my running!!

Still managed 6.5 in 58mins, but wow that was tough!

Hopefully, I can get in a run tonight. 6-7 miles would be great.

Yesterday I had to swap a 5 mile run for a 75 minute ride on the trainer.

titeloops - 2011-04-12 6:33 PM  Be warned however, they are Alabama boys who seem to drink the Crimson Tide cool aid. Looking forward to chatting with you all.

The Bama guys have probably seen this already.  But your Cool Aid of the day.

The year is 2016 and the United States has just elected the first woman
as well as the first Bama president, Susan Downsouth. A few days after
the election the president-elect calls her father and says, 'So, Dad, I
assume you will be coming to my inauguration?'

'I don't think so. It's a 16 hour drive, your mother isn't as young as
she used to be, and my arthritis is acting up again.'
'Don't worry about it Dad, I'll send Air Force One to pick you up and
take you home. And a limousine will pick you up at your door.'
'I don't know. Everybody will be so fancy. What would your mother wear?'
Oh Dad, replies Susan, 'I'll make sure she has a wonderful gown
custom-made by the best designer in Washington.'
'Honey,' Dad complains, 'you know I can't eat those rich foods you and
your friends like to eat.'
The President-to-be responds, 'Don't worry Dad. The entire affair is
going to be handled by the best caterer in Washington, I'll ensure your
meals are salt free Dad, I really want you to come.'

So Dad reluctantly agrees and on January 20, 2017, Susan Downsouth is
being sworn in as President of the United States. In the front row sits
the new president's Dad and Mom. Dad noticing the senator sitting next
to him leans over and whispers, 'You see that woman over there with her
hand on the Bible, becoming President of the United States.'
The Senator whispers back, 'Yes I do.'

Dad says proudly, 'Her brother played football at Alabama for Nick
Saban
.'

This AM was a 2000 yd swim.

This PM will be a 60 min run with 5x5min @ LT.

Tomorrow looks like bad weather.  I have another swim planned in the AM but if there's lightning nearby they'll kick us out real fast.  Hope that's not the case.

Hey Bama,

Hate to break it to you, but looks like you missed on on "the happenin' spa" in your neck of the woods...

"DECATUR — Huntsville Police and Morgan County Sheriff's Office have arrested two women on prostitution charges at a spa in the Lacey's Spring community.

Authorities say Teresa Higdon and Patricia Hall are charged with promoting prostitution in the second degree...."

Did the 5 min max power test this morning (sucked) and planning a 40-45 min easy run this evening.

Are those of use with power meters still planning to have a little competition to see who can increase there CP the most during the season?
