Here's an explenation of my screen name.  It includes a lot of links because some may try and jump to a conclusion.  So before you jump, click!

Oipolloi is a derivation of the word hoi pollois, which means common people.  The derivation Oi applies specifically to a working class attitude, or common working class man.  This term is used by a subculture I have belonged to for most of my life, which is the skinhead subculture.  OiPollloi is also an Oi! band

So there you go.

Due to the busy schedule of everyday life, it is nearly impossable to schedule a ride with other people. Therefore I am a soloryder. I also happen to be a Solorunner and a Soloswimmer.

KSLostStar:

KS= Kori Stella (Stella is my maiden name, now my middle name); Stella=Italian for "star" Many moons ago when I attended the University of the Arts in Philly my friends called me star-light. When I got injured and couldn't dance anymore they called me "Lost Star" (not very nice but it stuck, go figure!) Some friends call me KS, some still, after 10- 11 years post dance life, call me lost star.

Too many people take themselves WAY too seriously.  The world would be a better place if everyone would just relax a little bit.

H is the initial of my first name. I convinced an ex of mine that my middle name was Lola, named after my mothers stage name she used as a stripper. But its not my middle name, and no, my mom wasnt a stripper. So he started calling me Lola. And J is the initial of my last name. HLolaJ.

Yeah, right.

Everyone knows Lola was the transvestite made famous in the Kinks song, the one who "walked like a woman but talked like a man."

Heather, huh? Formerly Heath? Herman?

It’s a mixed up muddled up shook up world except for heather

Mine is a reminder of my chunkier days and how hard I've worked to get to where I am now - I was a pudgy kid (and adult, for a while), and had to wear the "husky" sized clothes (toughskins pants from Sears, in a rainbow of colors - hey, it was the 70's).

It's actually a nickname I recieved from the USA track and field hammer throwers and coaches at the Penn Relays a few years ago.  I am a volunteer biomechanist for them and travel to the major meets to with them.  I have them hoodwinked into believing I know what I am talking when it comes to the hammer about since I am doing my dissertation on it.

Ok, I thought Haagen-Dasz was Danish for the same thing.

FitPhd, my fit DH proudly sports his velcro sneakers just to help me become less interested in his appearance.  It's good for my soul, you see.  Perhaps that's why your colleagues wear their shoes ~ it's all for your soul.

What I want to know is where TriComet got that pic!

Ok, VikingMom isn't very interesting.  We have a cat (female) named Brett Favre, so clearly I am not a Vikings fan.  :-)  It's because our kiddos are little Norskis.

Funny thing is my nick is VikingMom, I'm married to a warrior, I wrote an extremely gruesome true story called Massacre: Daughter of War, and yet I have recently become a pretty serious peacenik.  Ha!

I asked JeepFleeb for it. I couldn't bear to let it die after the Dec. swim challenge punishment was over.
