Janelle-- you are doing an amazing thing!

My sweetie lost his mom to cancer and I am happy to help fight the disease in honor of her...and the millions of other cancer patients and families.

Much respect,

Nope not yet.  I was going to start sending out letters to people in my workplace and family- I don't think I can use email for this type of event.  But I've started mentioning it to a few coworkers.  I honestly think that I raise over my set goal of $3,000.  It would be awesome if I could raise between $4,000- $5,000.  I think with family and coworkers I could!!  This is getting excited.  I was really nervous about it yesterday, but now that I see the dollar amount rise it's exciting to know how much money is going to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society!  Ya'll are great!  I knew ya'll were great, but I didn't realize how supportive and generous eberyone would be!

I think I'm bonking at work, when I glance through the thread titles quickly I keep seeing this one as:

Runnergirl to donate her head - Shave now!

I need to eat something.

I'd think twice about that. Sounds too much like a feminine hygene product.

Okay, Janelle....I'm late.  Trying to head out of town...but had to tell you.  Before I had kids I was a non-profit tornado.  I handled fundraising for non-profits for a living.  We would put months of work into fundraisers that would net us $10,000. We did larger capital campaigns and big time stuff too....but lots of man power.

The fact that you are raising $3,000. in about 3 days (my prediction) is admirable.  If you ever decide on career change, your personality and heart would make you an ideal candidate for fund raising for a living.  It doesn't pay great, but you meet tons of people and help a lot of people too. Great job...and I really am coming to shave your head.  It would be an honor.....chrome dome.

Chrome dome- haven't heard that one yet but I like it!  I actually have thought about working for a non-profit and having the repsonisbility of fundraising/campaigning.  I wouldn't be surprised if down the road I made a career change to something like that.  But honestly- if it weren't for this website and all the generious BT'ers I woudln't have the raised close to $2,000 in 2 days.  I'm not sure how I even decided to do this, but thanks to whoever threw the idea out there- it's a good thing

I' not sure when the head shaving will take place, but I'll have it shaved by St. Anthony's.  What I'd like to do is arrange it so that my patient hero can be there and his family as well.  And of course my TNT'ers, and whoever else would like to come.  i'll probably have my hairdressser cut the pony tails for locks of love, and then Shannon you can bust out the clippers on me!  No really- I'll let you know when.
