Still staying out of Dee's taser range...whew!

And I'm a big fan of the fruity blue drink avatar - the taser avatar would be too scary.

Dee - I'm not fast - but I am one of the most competitive people I know, so I'd like to volunteer for tasering IF I lose to you this month.

You may have noticed the fact that I've been creeping up on you and while I don't have a taser - we might be able to motivate each other.  If I beat you in the overall progress for the month, I'm gonna reward myself with a bottle of beer from Jolly Pumpkin.  If you beat me - how would you reward yourself?

That is - if you are willing to step up to the plate... challenge made.

Sorry, but I am not gonna take you up on that side challenge.  Work has been challenging enough, and I've had problems getting ANY workout time in, so I'm going to be quite satisfied with myself if I meet the wimpy little goals that I set for the month.  Also, I'm already stressed out by work, and adding a side challenge would just stress me out more.  My two current overall goals are:  (a) Stop being a workaholic.  (I'm finally accepting that I am one.)  (b) Reduce stress levels before I crash or get sick.  So, while I generally do have a very competitive nature, I'm not going to accept your challenge.  I keep reminding myself that I need to look at the 'big picture' which involves my physical, mental and emotional health.  And this means that I need to reduce stress/competition in favor of maintaining some semblance of health and sanity.  For me, right now, some regular exercise is good, but all encompassing challenges are not.  And yes, admitting all this represents a MAJOR change in attitude for me.

Hm, but I'm thinking there are probably a few people here who WOULD like to take you up on that side bet.

I like that Dave put out a side challenge to you, Dee.  Are you taking it?

I had a sprint tri today.  Given that it was the first headache free day since Wednesday, not bad.  Still not thrilled with it though.

Nope, not taking the side challenge.  At this point in my life, I should stand up and say, "Hi, my name is Dee, and I am a stressed-out workaholic."  I need to stop being a workaholic, and instead establish some good habits, such as getting back into regular (but not crazy) workouts and eating better.

I remember a few years back when Tinkerbeth and I did some crazy challenge stuff.  It was a lot of fun, but it added a lot of stress to my life.  I raced around between work and working out.  The adrenaline rush was great - but I need to stop the 'adrenaline addiction' and get back to healthy things.

The amount of work and stress that I've dealt with this year is starting to take a big toll on me.  I'm recognizing that I need to change something in my life, or I am going to have some serious issues.

Wow.  This is a major change in attitude for me.  Maybe I'm getting old?  LOL

Actually, the picture gets reduced so much that it looks like an electric razor.  Which just confuses everyone.  And, of course, my goal is to strike fear into the hearts of BTers, not confusion.

Also, I get tired of people asking,  "Why is your avatar an electric razor?"  Every time I hear that, I want to taser someone.

Then again, just about everything makes me want to taser someone.....

No worries. We all have our own challenges and I wish you luck in finding ways to take a break from the hectic pace of life. Kudos for your attitude change and willingness to go in a new directionAnyone interested in a side bet?. Ps. Dont taser me

Updated the sheet today as to avoid getting **TZZZTT!!** tasered!!  (that was the best taser-noise translated into text I could come up with)  Although I've never been tasered, so I don't know firsthand what they sound like...although I have seen them on TV...and a guy died from being tasered by the cops less than a half mile from my house...still think of that everytime I go past the spot...

Anyhoo, I digress!  Doing decent with my goals, hope to stay on track!

Thanks for the reminder.  I was on vacation at a beach last week, but failed to count the times I was in the water as a swim (for some reason I got into the thinking that it didn't count as a "swim" because it wasn't doing laps.. even though it was swimming in the ocean).

Updated the form and feeling much better about my progress now!

Just got back from an awesome kickboxing session!!  Taking a little break before getting a run in.  Work's crazy this week and I've been called to go in early tomorrow and may be working some overtime this week so I'm hoping to be able to stay consistent with my workouts.

Hm, my "stretching" goal is still at 0%.  Who'd have guessed that's the one I'd be lagging on?  LOL

Then again, I really don't need a lot of flexibility to zap people with a Taser.

I suppose I could always get in my car and chase you down.

I am creative with that kind of thing.

I always forget to stretch! I'm glad yoga is one of my challenge goals -- otherwise I'd probably never go.

Going to another yoga class tonight though!

You better start stretching! Who tasers the taserer?

Long drive, you would spend far too much on gas to get here and then have to chase me down.

However, if anyone wants to join me for a lovely Vietnamese dinner.....I will have to find another really awesome recipe to make.  I love hosting my exchange student.  Never knew how amazing Vietnamese food was until I made her a dinner to help get over being homesick.

Ha!  No one.  I'm too evil for a mere tasering.

But yes, I really should go do some of that stretchy stuff.  Bleh.

My bike rides keep getting pre-empted (or laziness sinks in- don't want to fix the flat I found yesterday morning) or just soft - don't feel like going for a ride in the rain.

Hopefully I can keep the overall average outside of Taser range (?whats that? 30 meters??)

Go ahead, get the Tasers out. I have to drop out of this challenge. There is no way to make my goals and I woke up this morning (after 10 days on antibiotics) with a temperature, sore throat and ear infection. DAM!! I am afraid of taking another round of antibiotics that may make the tendon burst again like last year. sigh.

Geez Robin, you can't ctch a break!  I hope you recover soon.  If an antibiotic causes a tendon issue you should NOT get that antibiotic again.

I know Julie, I am terrified of any antibiotics at this point. I am going to wait a couple of days and see what happens before going back to the doc. I am thankful it isn't anything like a big disease or anything. Just a big PITA!
