Crystal Lake, IL | Subject: RE: Pleasant Prairie OLY Challenge jschmitchicago - 2006-08-17 8:54 AM "Do you have any idea how much therapy for this is going to cost me?" For yourself or the kids?
(sorry i'm logged on as my wife...this is actually from jowisc...) For the kids. Too late for me. psst - While you are logged on as her are you going to go around and send all of her teammates nasty notes to create dissent among their ranks? Good plan!

It's called a taper. You might want to try it. (of course, I think that the rap needs to be performed at dinner on Saturday so it can be recorded on tape for posterity's sake.....) Thanks for volunteering. Side note: I was 100% right about my kids, uh, positive and enthusiastic reaction to our team name. The started dancing around and thrusting and pointing at their crotches saying "PP Weiners! PP Weiners!" and laughing hysterically. I tried to explain that PP is short for Pleasant Prairie, the town where the race is and Weiners is because we all like hot dogs. That stopped them for about a half a second and then they started laughing and pointing again. Do you have any idea how much therapy for this is going to cost me?
Great - we haven't even started the race and already there are casualties! Way to take one for the team |

Crystal Lake, IL | Subject: RE: Pleasant Prairie OLY Challenge Slightly Naughty List of PPW Team Slogans (you've been warned) 1. You'll never beat the Weiners. 2. Weiners train hard, go long. 3. We'll stick it out until the finish. 4. We can take a licking and keep on ticking. 5. If you want to join our team just hop on! 6. In the end, we'll be ahead. 7. Relax, we're just poking fun at ya. 8. If we're starting to get to you try to get a grip. 9. When it is time to go for it, don't choke. 10. {singing} Oh I wish I was a Pleasant Prairie Weiner, that is what I'd truly like to be...

Expert 1357 Mukwonago, WI | Subject: RE: Pleasant Prairie OLY Challenge For whatever this is worth I spoke to one of the race coordinators and they said that after the kids race is done on Saturday the swim area of the lake with be open but the lake itself is not available for OWS. Not sure how strictly that is enforced but that is what she said. As an aside I told her I was part of the PP Weiner team and then she said that is another thing altogether. Go ahead and do what you want. In fact feel free to use the whole Lake View RecPlex facility for free - as long as you are not part of the nameless Team #2 group. Just repeating what she said. |

Expert 1148 NW Suburbs, Illinois | Subject: RE: Pleasant Prairie OLY Challenge You guys are hilarious. We had the press conference, but I just got back in the office. I could tell you all about it (assuming you didn't see it on ESPN), but here is the AP report. ----------------------------- By Ima Onyer Left, STAFF WRITER (AP) Pleasant Prairie, WI — The much anticipated announcement of the number one rated Olympic triathlon team was held today at noon. It was well attended by many, including triathlon stars Hunter Kemper, David Thompson, and Jessi Stensland. The conference started, with Schmize taking the podium and answering some questions. He had to address the question of how he was lucky enough to inherit a team of all-stars, when the competition doesn’t seem to have the same luck. Schmize retorted “We can’t worry about the other teams, but I couldn’t be happier with the blend of speed, strength, and intelligence on this team. What is the other team’s name anyway, the little PP wieners? I mean, its not like its Oscar Mayer Wieners, which would mean everyone is in love with them.” Esmies took the stand next, and let the people know that he just did a ½ IM earlier this month. He assured the team that the Olympic distance will be a walk in the park for him. The two girls took the stage, and they admitted that they may not have as much experience as the other woman on “that other team”, but assured the audience, that they are willing to stand toe-to-toe with these people on Sunday. As a matter of fact, Startingtotri and Jsmitchicago were rated in the top 10 women Illinois newcomer triathletes in Triathlete magazine. Both are powerful bikers and runners. Look for a strong finish from both of them. Finally, the local boy, MarkK took the stage. MarkK is the anchor of this team, and all you need to do is look at his sprint times from his race last week to realize this. MarkK was short and sweet, when he quoted Vince Lombardi, “Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing.” At the end of the conference, Hunter Kemper, winner of the recent National Olympic Triathlon, took the stage to announce the name of the team he is personally sponsoring: “The team name we have chosen for these brilliant stars is the PP Posse. It truly is a brilliant name, as the Posse represents a team, which is the sum of these individual all stars. The beauty of the Pleasant Prairie Posse name is its use of alliteration, as the name just rolls off your tongue. And with this name, our marketing team was able to come up with a logo (see below) that was just pure genius. It uses the P-cubed concept, which is obviously the acronym for Pleasant Prairie Posse, but more importantly the cubed 3 represents the three disciplines in the sport of triathlon. I couldn’t be more happy with the people on this team and their name/logo.” That pretty much ended the conference, as the team signed autographs and such. The race director did get up at the end to see if the team wanted to swim with ankle weights, to make the competition a little more fair. It is something the insane PPP is considering. Expert 1148 NW Suburbs, Illinois | Subject: RE: Pleasant Prairie OLY Challenge Chirunner- who's side are you on, anyway? If you are bandwagon jumping, my hint to you would be to jump on the PPP train now. Secondly, don't you think an outfit as big as this, would have a legal team? The P3 used by Aaron Spelling was in a Times New Roman font, ours is clearly Arial. We are in the clear. Go PP Posse!!! Edited by schmize 2006-08-17 2:15 PM |

Expert 1357 Mukwonago, WI | Subject: RE: Pleasant Prairie OLY Challenge Wow - I have to say that your presentation was quite impressive. One problem however, I was flipping through the channels to find the press conference and ESPN cancelled coverage in favor of the Montana Log Rolling Championships. The coverage was picked up by a sister channel owned by the same company as ESPN. Let's just say my kids weren't too happy when they couldn't watch Lilo & Stitch today on the Disney Channel. I think it snippets were also picked up by the Comedy Channel. Otherwise, well done schmize!! |

Crystal Lake, IL | Subject: RE: Pleasant Prairie OLY Challenge There's a lot of PP in this thread. No wonder Whizzzzz likes it so much. Scott - I gotta hand it to you, that was good. Considering we're the Weiners, I didn't think you guys would go with the name you chose because it sounds a lot like another word that might be considered insulting. (I'm not going to go THAT far).

I've been forgetting to mention - Good luck chirunner and I hope you SHATTER your goal time! Look forward to meeting you. And this reminds me of another thing. Mark and/or Cindy - could you post a list of all BT'ers that have notified you they are coming to dinner on Sat so we know who's going to be there? (If you have time?)

Do you think the rest of the site knows that this is the funniest thread going? They're really missing out.
