NO!  Not the Cornhuskers, Blue Devils, or Trojans.  You know all of them.  How about some Division III schools....

The next post will have us broke out into teams honoring these little known, but I'm sure, deserving schools and mascots.  See if you've heard of them...

Griffins?  I forgot what a Griffin was:

The Griffin (Greek gryphos, Persian ??????‌ shirdal "lion-eagle" ) is a legendary creature with the body of a lion and the head and wings of an eagle.  As the lion was considered the "King of the Beasts" and the eagle the "King of the Air", the griffin was thought to be an especially powerful and majestic creature. 

OK, I remember now, I'm not sure I fit the "especially powerful and majestic creature" part but I'll take the name

Gosh, I am a slug... I already felt slow enough, and now my team is the slugs.  I guess I can be a slug, just as long as I keep sliding along.

I will get my first miles in on Sat. since Friday is my daughters first birthday, and a rest day for me.  Plus I think it is going to be a DATE NIGHT as well.  I like date nights, this time the little woman and I get to leave ALL the kiddies at home.  That has not happened much in the past year.

Okkkeeeyyy Doookkkiieee!  Here's the updated list for today.  Still waiting on goals from a few people.

The "BOLD" names are team captains.  Whose basic job is to whip their team into shape and create a frenzy of trash talk....and also help me keep up with the numbers (thanks guys!).  I think you'll all be surprised what good runners the Banana Slugs will be!
