Subject: RE: 2005 BT Triathlon Party at St. Anthony's - Roll CallTorment,
You got a pretty good feel of the course it sounds like. But you missed two things I would bring to your attention: (1 ) the run course is mostly flat and through neighborhoods, but there is not a lick of shade the whole way. I was in the next-to-last wave last year and the heat was noticeable. (2 ) the swim goes parallel to the pier from the beach then turns left to Vinoy Park. When your in the water, that is one damn-long pier!
The bike course is flat, too, with one or two slight inclines. But I think I remember the turn-around could have been better, ie, around a block rather than on the same road. Also, there are I think, 2 railroad crossings which you don't want sneaking up on you. No, not trains coming, but be careful crossing at less than perpendicular.
Hope to see y'all there and good luck!
