bcart1991 - 2008-10-14 10:31 AM I think I got the flu for an afternoon last year. Uber-immune system = win.

Twas not the flu if it was just an afternoon. The flu sux. Mono sucks worse, though, lemme tell ya.

I had mono in HS, it was great, just slept for a week.

If I say it was the flu, it was the flu.

Again, uber-immune system. I had all the symptoms, so I laid down on the couch for a while. I was better by dinner. My body knows how to handle its business.

Part of the diagnosis is actually how long you've been sick.  Lots of things act like the flu, but aren't.

My boss was in such a hurry to get out of town, he didn't tell anyone where his projects were at.  Now I'm getting calls from all the clients that want to know where things are at, if they have been submitted, revised, delivered, etc...

I don't know, and after going through his disaster area called his office, I still don't know.  Now the clients are getting frustrated, and I'm the one left holding the bag.  This makes me unhappy

No exercise and only able to eat smoothies because it's the one thing that feels okay going down your throat = fear of getting fat. Yeah, not ideal.

Well sounds like yours might have been worse. The only symptoms i had were fatigue/exhaustion and pain in my spleen. I was a lucky b. Oh and my bf at the time had it too so we just slept and watched a lot of movies. It was brrrr cold outside so I just wore his sweatpants and hoodies everyday. Ahh the life.

Dude, you totally should. I friggin loved it. The second time was way better becuase it was during finals and my professors just kinda let me squeek by without killing my grades too much. Ahhh, I miss it.

I didn't have any spleen issues, that I'm aware of - at least if it was swollen, it didn't hurt. Just really tired, and the glands in my neck swelled to the size of baseballs and I had the WORST sore throat I've ever had in my entire life. I couldn't even sleep at night because just the swallowing reflex hurt. That didn't last more than a week, thankfully.

Ouch. I think my mom gave me some of her vicodin. I think that made it even better for me.

Yeah, I was living in Boston, had just broken up with my boyfriend about three weeks prior, and he was getting ready to move to SF shortly, so I had no one. And it sucked.

Yup - only liquids, and sometimes cold felt good and sometimes hot felt good. It was really sucky.
