Nice and quiet and moves very well. I'm using it and really appreciate it with these cold temps. Hoping to build a decent cycling base before the season starts. |

I was able to pick up a nice fluid trainer for 25 bucks a couple of months ago and just found another one for a buddy of mine for 50. Craigslist is awesome! Veteran 223![]() ![]() back of the pack | Subject: RE: Evondo's Group - CLOSED!My new shoes FINALLY came in on Friday and today was the first time I have had a chance to use them...The track was closed for the Triclub practice ( next year I will join) so i was on the treadmill. No pain, stride felt good, little or no pronation. The best news is that when I got off the motors didn't smell hot or smoking. (A few years ago I was asked to not use the treadmills at a different gym because I was too heavy.) I am going to look at a couple of bikes this week, A local shop has a Jake the snake cyclecross that they will give me a smoking deal on. Not an ideal Tribike but in my range, heavy duty and somewhat multipurpose. Feeling pretty good about myself today... Hope everyone else is having as much fun training as I am.CheersDan |

It was 21* when I headed out. Brrrrrrr. Fortunately no wind, so it was manageable - even kind of nice in the sun. Today I jumped into a new masters swim group in a town a few miles away. First clue I was in over my head: 90 minute session. Missed that somehow when I looked up the schedule. Second clue: 3x300 warm-up. WTF?????? That is almost half of my total swim most sessions!!! I could barely pull myself onto the pool deck by the time I finished. The coach was terrific though and gave me some tips that made an immediate difference with respect to body position. The others in my lane were very gracious and even asked me back next week, although I'm sure it was totally lacking in sincerity. Too bad. I'm planning on getting back there every Sunday I can. |

I am loving this warm dry training I managed to get this weekend here in Tucson. I am so moving here (and then I can cross off another goal). One more day here then back to rainy Oregon (and a 4AM wake up on Tue for masters swim) |

Seriously, enjoy Tucson. I love Arizona!!!! Do visit in July so you can calibrate the summer weather. I kept oven mits in my car (for touching the steering wheel) during the summer when I lived in Scottsdale. |

Yeah, I know summer will be a whole different ball game but I'd rather have a few months of intense heat instead of 8 months of constant rain. I'll have to remember the oven mitt trick |
