Great job conquering the hill! Did you have trouble getting started once you stopped (i.e., clipping in).

I think the official LaurenSU02's group King of the Mountain jersey goes to owl_girl!

I am so far from conquering that hill!  It is on my weekly "to do" list, though.

No, I did not have trouble clipping in.  I went strait across the road and by the time I was in the downhill lane, I was clipped in and ready to climb again.

Way to go Owl_girl! Congrats on the polka-dot jersey!  I'm sure you'll get that stupid hill eventually.

Tracy, you're nuts... thats so awesome! Is that the biggest hill you can find? okay, just kidding!

Question for you guys, I just changed my tires b/c the old ones had some dings in them from the rough roads I rode in in the aquabike race. Anyhoo, is there any reason to change the inner tubes also? As far as I know the old ones are fine. Is there a certain amount of milage where you change these? I could check through my log, but I think the miles on them are somewhere between 500-750miles.

Thanks guys!

You should be fine. Inner tubes last longer than tires. That amount of mileage is nothing .

x2.  Tubes don't need to ever be replaced unless you get a flat.  Or I should say, you will more likely get a flat WAY before you ever would need to replace a tube due to age.

Hey guys,

Sorry I wasn't around much today. I am heading up to Lake Placid tomorrow to ride the course and stuff. I am not taking my laptop with me (it's been on the fritz lately), so I will be out of touch until Sunday night or Monday (not yet exactly sure which day I am returning).

Have a great weekend. Good luck everyone that's racing. Sorry I have to miss the Philly Tri .

Later gators !

Tracy, are you doing the "Death ride"?? I think if I tried that I would end up rolling backwards down the hill.

Lauren, hope the test ride goes well! I "rode" the course with the Troy Jacobsen videos on the trainer, looks like it is very beautiful out there.

Hope you guys all have a great weekend! Anyone racing this weekend?

Anyone know how to use the Tickerfactory ticker?  I can't seem to get mine to work.  I cut and paste the HTML code, and all I get is a link/garbage.

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  I think I'm having a running breakthrough.  I've been struggling with injuries for at least a year now.  I'm finally starting to get back up to some reasonable distance plus, I'm faster than I used to be.  This is a really recent development so I'm not going to hold my breath.  I'm just going to keep my legs healthy.  Cheers!

congrats traci!!!!  first tri under your belt, woooooo!!!!!!

i did my century saturday, and i feel just fine today, and i felt not bad yesterday either, walking fine and everything.  my husband says that means i should have ridden harder on saturday, haha.

one thing i find that suuuuuuuuper helps after a long ride (i'm shocked i feel this good, and i think this is why) is that after your ride, lie on your back with your legs sticking straight up in the air so that your body creates a 90 degree angle.  i leaned them against hubby, but if you're at home, the wall works.  and just lie like that for a few minutes and let the acid drain out of your legs.  i felt an immediate effect after doing this 20 minutes after my ride for about 3-4 minutes.  it was a distinct improvement, and i felt ZERO quad soreness the next day, which is shocking.  anyway, try it sometime, i will never go on a long ride without doing this afterwards again!
