Heads up to anyone using TriBike Transport....my confirmation email came this morning and they changed (without any other notice) my drop-off date to TWO DAYS EARLIER than it was when I signed up/is listed in my registration e-mail.  Double check your dates, they're being shady!!

Thanks for the feedback on the Neoprene cap. I am going to pick one up.

I am planning to have my kids participate in Ironkids. I have heard nothing but good things about it. I am hoping that it lights the fire in my kids for fitness. I have  6 and 8 yr old girls.

Bib # 256 here!

I've been rapidly forced into taper this week after tweaking my hip.  At first I tried to train through it (bad idea) but now I'm thinking a few rest days are in order.  I'm hoping it's nothing serious, and I'm going to try not to stress out about it and enjoy my upcoming weekend camping trip!

#1746 here!

So excited...yet terrified at the same time Smile

Last long bike and long run planned for this weekend. I have not been able to train as consistently as some so taper will be a little over 1 week.

I still feel like a kid every time I take my bike outside.

Anyone know if the run course has decent mile markers? I'd like to leave my Garmin behind that day.

I wouldn't count on the mile markers. Maybe it's just me but i only randomly see the mile markers during the race.

Looks like my bike shop The Bike Hub and Giant Bicycle are going to replace my frame and my bike should be back and ready to go for IM. Did ride a really sweet P3 today and it felt pretty good, but only got 40ish miles in on it. It would be the ideal bike for this new course, but I think I'll go with my rebuilt Giant just because I know I can make 112 on it in relative comfort. I don't want to change anything on the borrowed bike because the gal that loaned it to me had one of the big time bike fittings done on it and I'd worry about doing something to it the whole time. Really looking forward to 7AM on 6/24!!!!

Mile markers on the run were plentiful last year.

I have only raced Set Up and Fs events which don't require you to wear your bib number on the bike, so I have always put it on in T2. I see we are required to wear the bib # on the bike here.

Do you all just put your race belt on and wear the number behind you, doesn't it flap the whole ride, I know that might be a dumb question but I don't like any flapping.

Yes you do have to wear your bib on the bike. That is what they mark when you get a drafting penalty. Do you have your number on 10 other places on your bike and body? The answer is yes. Is it a stupid rule? The answer is yes. However, it is a rule and everyone has to do it.

Would you suggest wearing ear plugs for the swim if water temp is below 60?  I have never swam with temps that low and have never used ear plugs.  Any suggestions on what kind to get?

Thanks in advance

For me, ear plugs are mandatory in colder water.  If I don't wear them I feel like I've been on a 3 day drunk when I get out of the water.  I use the silicone ones, easy to form to your ear and they work well for me.

Don't know about your bike shop, I would call them. When Charlotte was not on the drop down list I called them and they contacted tri -bike and got it on there a couple weeks later.

Thanks!  Actually, TBT wrote me back at almost the same time that you were writing to me.  They had a glitch and had accidentally taken Cadence off the drop-down menu.  But it's back now, and I'm all set.  Woo hoo!

Bib #1543.  Here we go!
