Got an early start to the holiday gluttony with a breakfast potluck at work. Fresh made pumpkin pancakes, chorizo bake, and a pesto quiche that I made to spotlight a couple standouts. Yum!

Glad I went for a morning run to burn off some calories ahead of time!

I just made the brine for the turkey....will put in cooler tonight and give it a solid 18 hours to marinate.

What sucks is that I used Shiner as part of it but could not partake in 1 or 4 of my own since I had to come back to work.

32 won't even be our high for the day.  And this is one of my volunteer events, so I get to stand on the corners and wait in the cold to direct traffic so the runners can get through.  I would rather be running and keeping warm.

nope, just i'm getting the whole meal on the table for lunch so that i can eat it all over again at dinner.  tempted to go pick up the husband's favorite pumpkin ale, but the weather is so icky out and drivers are so bad today i'm not sure i want to.

I really wish I could be excited about Thanksgiving, but working in retail kind of negates all excitement for me. Black Friday is horrible, or Black Thursday or whatever they are calling it. People are so rude and mean during these two days it is unimaginable. People do not use Black Friday deals for gifts like they used too. Mainly it is for people to get themselves something at what they percieve to be a good deal.

The other gripe I have is the people that are standing in lines, hourse before we open and complain that retailers are opening on Thanksgiving and ruing the time they could spend with their family. I quickly tell them to stop complaining, if you were not here in line, then we would not be opening.

Sounds like a good reason to get excited

I was envisioning two different family gatherings on a rotating schedule and the sheer craziness that would ensue.

Wow, I really haven't been on BT in a week? Stupid work!

Happy Thanksgiving to all Americans. And to those overseas, as a little 'tip of the hat,' I'm eating your portion, too

Another Turkey Trotter this morning!  Actual temp was 21 with snow flurries. Road was crazy slippery as snow accumulated during the run.

Grateful to be able to run.   Happy Thanksgiving (non-Canadian Gluttony Day) to all of you!

Oh, yes!  They had a building open that the masses could huddle in pre-race, but just the 5 minutes or so out there when we went out to line up totally sucked.
