Well, that really puts things into perspective, doesn't it?

Sometimes things aren't going so great for me, but when I stop and think about it, I realize I've never had it so good.

Best part - puppy dog kisses and furious tail wagging to wake me up
Worst part - unreasonable requests at work

Best Part- My youngest (Jesse, he is 3) came by and we had an icee while mom did some shopping

Worst- Dealing with some of the stupidest things ever that occur in parking lots

Best part: My girl texting me while at work.

Worst part: Working while my kids are at my house.

So do my kids. Remember the 5 second rule.

Last night, I mentioned it in TAN, my family went downtown and served meals at a men's shelter. We actually met on Sunday night and cooked the meals and then served them on Monday. I took my boys and they worked their butts off, even the youngest worked setting up plates and drinks.

After the food was served, the kids went upstairs and me and some guys just spent time talking to them. The boys really enjoyed it and I was proud of them. we are doing this once a month for the next 6 months.

Best : Did a search warrant at 5am on a house where they were cooking meth. Arrested the parents and got the kids removed from that horrible environment.

Worst : Missed saying good by to my kids and wife before I left for work at 4am.

Best: waking up to the wife after being in a hunting camp the last three mornings.

Worst: not being in the hunting camp which means I'm at work which means I won't get any more deer this year unless I get incredibly lucky during the bow season. 

Best: Got a text that made me really smile

Worst: Having to get out of bed... and I'm guessing having to go to bed tonight.

James, that's awesome! Sounds like it was a great time for everyone, and the kids will be better off for it. Great idea, and congrats on following through with the 6 month commitment! 

Best: Found Duke on the couch this morning This means pain meds for his hips are working!!

Worst: Got an e-mail from HR, with my boss CCed re-stating the company dresscode with no reasoning supplied. That's an awkward conversation to have with a boss. The moral of the story is I need to re-hem dress pants that got frayed at the bottom, and I'm high on HR's radar for some reason. Fun.

Wow... that seems a bit tight-a$$ed if you ask me!

I work on a construction site, so by law, I need to wear pants and a shirt... 

Though a couple years ago, I was doing a labour job where the laws were pretty lenient.

ETA: Elaine, who in HR's boyfriend thinks you are cuter than the HR girl?

Yeah. Somehow spandex pants, cleavage, short skirts and hooker heels are all acceptable.

I don't really belong.

Wow. That is a serious case of unclear/lack of communication on HR's end. It's hard to believe that is an HR department's policy for communicating a violation to an employee.

How many employees work there?

Less than 100 in the office, much more on the factory floor.

I have a reservations at Firefly and table at Taboo Sunday night for some birthday celebrations if anyone is interested.  Hotties, tapas, booze, and club music.  Oh yeah, and ME!
