Favorite vacation spots is a tough one... I love Venice, Barcelona, Ireland (specifically the West coast) and Northern California. The mid-west National Park line-up is incredible for outdoorsy type travel. And NYC was never really a vacation spot for me, since I grew up pretty close to there, but will always be one of my favorite places.

As for places I can't wait to visit... the list is WAY too long to post. Some must sees for me are Egypt, Africa, China and Manchu Picchu. Oh, and El Paso, TX - which I really can't explain, but have always wanted to visit.

I'm frequently guilty of not eating breakfast, which I know is a terrible habit. I'm rarely hungry in the mornings, and so I just don't think about eating. But my favorite breakfast would consist of:

An omelet with mushrooms, tomatoes, onions and swiss cheese.
Fresh squeezed orange juice.
And corned beef hash.

My longest race ever was the February 2008 Myrtle Beach half marathon. It was also my first race ever, and remains the only one I've done. It was SO MUCH FUN. I finished in 3 hours, 12 minutes. Not blazingly speedy, but it was under my time goal, and I did run the entire way - no slowing to walk. I was SOOO proud of myself.

Then, of course, I decided I deserved a break. Just a week or two. Which stretched into more weeks, and then months, and so on. Long story short, I haven't managed to drag myself fully back onto the running wagon since then.

Am I the only one who does this to myself?! I should so incredibly know better by now, but I can't seem to train with any consistency. It's exceedingly frustrating, even though I know I have no one to blame but me. Yuck!

I watch almost no TV. We get very few stations, even with the new converter, and I'm usually busy with other things anyway.

Pretty much the only exception is House. I love that show!! I even went out and got the old episodes on DVD... Embarassed

Toss up between swimming and biking.

I love swimming. I like gliding through the water.  There's just something about it.  I feel calm in the water.

Biking is fun.  Flying down hills and such.

I'm not a runner.  I'm working on it, but I mostly still suck.

I came to triathlon from biking and biking is still my first love. I'd rather bike than almost anything!

When I started down the triathlon road the running seemed easier than the swimming but in the last year I come to really love swimming. Running was getting much better for me until my current heel issue popped up.

I have permission from Dee to refactor my running goal for the rest of the month. I'm lowering my frequency and my distance. My new goal is 29 miles (down from 45). Taking that into account I'm now at 50% of goal!

Glad you're taking care of yourself! 29 miles still sounds like plenty to me!!

In reference to the previous post (and what an awful runner I am!!)... Did the running get much better just because you kept doing it? Or did you change something about your mindset?

And how long were you running before it started getting better?

Not at all!  I've been struggling with running since I started tris.  Maybe one day I'll actually be able to call myself a runner.  It's a dream.

I ran 3.2 miles today.  I really didn't feel like it, but I made it through.  I was faster than I thought I'd be, which is kind of nice.  I might be sore tomorrow, though.
