Most likely I won't compete in the transplant games in July either. Surgery is Tuesday. Wait, what? I missed the news!!! What's the diagnosis? There is a tumor in my lower abdomen/pelvis. Theey are going to go in and get it on Tuesday morning. They can't say anything on a diagnosis until they get the biopsy back. Oh man, definitely in my prayers. I thought you were talking about your leg... x2 |

Sensei Sin City | Subject: RE: TAN 24: TANgerine Speedo.. Mini rant..... Ever know someone that made it SO difficult to do something nice for them that it got you mad? I have made arrangements to have a family member join me and Tala on our trip to Utah. I figure it's family, we should spend some quality time together. "No, I just will get in the way". Me: "no you won't, we want you to come and see the park and watch the race" "no, I'll slow you "kids" down" me "We, already made the arrangements - we really want you to go" "that's ok, I'm getting older and hiking is getting tough" me "We are not hiking. I'll be tired from the race - we will drive the park" "you, should have some alone time" me "we have alone time the OTHER 50 weeks of the year" "who is going to watch the dogs?" me "I already made arrangements" "who is going to let in the contrator?" me "he is a friend, I trust him with a key" "I don't want to get in the way" Me (in my head) "FINE! I am trying to be nice and spend time with my family. Why do I have to ARGUE with someone to do something NICE!!!! Just sit on your arse alone while we enjoy the scenery, going out to dinner, etc.... You come all the way to Vegas to be with us, and you don't want to take a short side trip to beautiful Utah and share in our lives. SO BE IT!!!!!!!" ARGE!!!!

Good on you for forcing the issue though.. I usually distance myself from that behaviour. Me to - can't get away fast enough. But it's family...... ANYWAY, finally beoched to Tala about it - (it's really HER family) and told her that I'm done trying to be nice on this issue. The bottom line, we want them to come and made the arragements. If they don't, fine w/ me. I'm not wasting any more energy on the issue. She will have to convince them. When she presented the ultimatum - they are now going. But the whole thing just leaves a bitter taste - ya know? I'm sure getting on the road tomorrow will make it better..... Edit to fix spelling - this time it was REALLY bad.... Yep, you did your part and if they choose to me miserable then so be it! What sucks, is I KNOW in their heart they want to go. In general, I think it's easy to tell what people really want even if they cover it up with words. I can't STAND that. Just tell me what you want! PLEASE! Give me the chance to say yes or no. My wife does that. She may think I did something wrong and "hint" at it instead of asking me what she wants, which is an answer..... Please just tell me what's on your mind/tell me what you want. Instead of beating around the bush.... People do WAY to much of that.....IMO It's kind of like when someone offers you something nice and you say "no, that's ok" but in your heart you SOOO want it! Heck, I just take it and say thanks. If they offer, they offer and I take if I want it.... No reason to deny what you want if they offer just "cuz". Makes no sense.....
