Yanti, this one is for you.

I'm currently following the Liverpool V Tottenham match both live on ESPN3 and the commentary on ESPN.  A cat came on the pitch and this was the commentary.

14'  And it's gone! Whisked away, more comfortably than a routine pitch invader would be, by a steward.

13'  They're still waiting for it to make its way off.

12'  Play's currently stopped because of a cat running onto the pitch

Bwa hahahaha! Brilliant!

Wait ... how did I become the crazy cat lady of BT?!

Told my boss about the Tucson thing. We've got a branch there.

He said he'd be happy to speak with people there about using me to fill some open positions (cue silly responses to the wording of that sentence!)

I'm relieved!

HAHA

I was watching it live and it was really cute.  He walked over to the barrier and the steward gently lifted him up, craddled him and petted him as he was taken off the pitch.  The whole crowd went "Awwwwwww".  Funny.  Too funny.

Aaaaand it happened.
I just looked at "who has viewed your profile" to see my creepster 53-year-old uncle had viewed my profile.

Just threw up in my mouth a little.

Yecchh!

So is he a creepster anyway, or is this a case of "oh that can't be my niece Lisa, I'll have a look--oh, it IS her! Whoops ..."

Except my profile pic is the exact same on Facebook (where we're friends and he posts the dumbest comments on my page that get deleted) and Match. I knew it was him immediately from the grainy 1-inch photo I saw! But maybe you're right, he's not the brightest crayon in the box.

thanks everyone--my fingers are crossed!

and i'm not only excited cuz i'd be able to work from home. the actual job and firm sound like they'd be cool to work for. we shall see.

@ lisa...i think the phrase 'laid back' is overused. however, ''laid back'' sounds better than ''i'm lazy and want a woman to make all my decisions for me.'' Tongue out

SNERK!

There was a really funny list somewhere of what a dating profile says and what it means ...

outdoorsy = homeless

fun-loving = alcoholic

etc.

hahaha!

outdoorsy = homeless.

@ ratherbeswimming & cheri ...thank youuuu!

so...here's a question. it's been a while since i've interviewed. i got my last job (that i was let go of, through someone i worked with in the past) and the prior job to that, i was there nearly 7 years. So...that said, today wasn't really an 'interview' per se. (since i worked with one of the guys on the call in the past) confused?

anyways. i sent a thank you email to them today. and haven't heard back. does this mean anything bad, do you think? we left things that they'd talk offline, and get back to me in a day or two with what their timeline is for putting this all together. so, i took that as a good sign?

help. Embarassed

Relax give them a couple of days. Not sure of your industry but I know in Engineering I have managed to land my positions by following up and giving some time in between. But most places want to see if an Engineering person is assertive enough to go after the job. I always send a thank you letter after the interview if I am interested.

Then I wait 2-4 days and put in a follow up letter high light the reasons why I would be a great fit and what I can do to make an impact for them in their operation.

etc etc.

I once got matched with my boyfriend's dad on a dating site, which is how we (eventually) wound up finding out he was cheating on my BF's mom ... awkward. (I was in the process of taking my profiles down when this happened ... my BF was in the room ... no, really ... )

So did you ask him on a date

YIKES! He would have accepted though. What a dysFUNctional family. For one thing, they were the Naked Family. Awkward!!! Especially on holidays when I'd go home with him ... also his dad was always hitting on me, and my BF would call him on it, and they'd have a real nice spat while his mom was totally oblivious.

I'm an engineer (read: a lot of people in my profession aren't exactly good communicators).

I ALWAYS send a thank-you after interviewing (e-mail or snail mail). I have NEVER received a response to a Thank You.

After 2-3 days, feel free to send a follow-up, which will be different from a Thank You.

Oh, and breathe.

Hi TAN

If you're the praying kind...please keep me in your thoughts, would you? I had a conf call today for a job opportunity. I worked with one of the men in the past...and would be so awesome to work for this group. I'm finally excited about a job...who woulda thunk it? Only thing, there was a lot of noise happening outside my condo today...trucks...lawnmowers, etc. It sorta distracted me...hoping that didn't come through on the call. Embarassed

Hope everyone's doin fine, 2day.

Prayers noted and fingers crossed

Yep, same answer from Laney and MMA ... depending on the circumstances, I might wait more than 2-3 days for the follow-up, but that's a good rough time frame.

jclarke450 - 2012-02-07 2:16 AM Heya TAN!  Its Monday

It's been Tuesday for hours here!

How are you?

I don't have a nickname for you yet, but I suppose you are the FNG until someone else comes along. As you noticed there have been a few candidates, but I think you scared them off with your abs.

Yes, we have not been able to land a FNG.....are we losing out luster?  Is Kate coming on too strong or Yants did you change up the punch?

I can handle being the FNG for a while.  Hasnt been too rough so far although I still have bite marks from Kate I think.

@Yanti, if my abs can scare anyone off then I am feeling kinda Supermanish..cause I thought they were kinda nonexistent anymore.

I can see 'em and I'd slurp 'em.

Well if you can see em, just wait till race season this year.  I'll make sure they are plenty visible then,  kinda of a goal for this year.  If I can't be fast...at least I can look fast!

Well you didnt say he was creepy in the first place.  Creepy is creepy, dating website or not.  If he wasnt creepy, I would just say maybe he was checking on you to make sure you werent putting up the wrong kind of profile or something.  Then he could have played the "concerned" family member.  But hey Creepy is Creepy, no matter where ya go!

Ok maybe not but they have a spreadsheet on it and a cost analysis along with a life cycle study.

EWWWWW shudder... NO actually I wouldn't... I found my cousin on a site and she is attractive and my age and she looked at my profile.. this is going back years. But for a split second I even thought that was a bit.. umm out there.

But I figured she was scoping it showing friends.. look at my lame cousin the Engineer on this dating sight...

Elaine - Do you know I have landed most of my positions in this field because of follow up letters. Almost every place I worked said that less then 10% of Engineers send follow up letters. Most are poor communicators or their ego gets in the way or they are just dumb.

But then again my training partner keeps telling me

"BOY'S ARE DUMB"
