Extreme Veteran 510 Louisville KY | Subject: RE: Ironman Wisconsin : Official Thread One option would be to epoxy the seatpost. Calfee uses loctite part # 9460 two part epoxy for gluing carbon parts, I have used it and its very strong, I even have some at work. I would glue it before I would drill and pin. Just ones opinion. schmize - 2009-09-10 1:55 PM I just talked with Chris and that is a picture of his felt. He is in good spirits, since he joked about now knowing what the creaking sound was coming from his bike on our last couple rides. He has a couple of plans to get it back functional. 1) A local bike shop in Madison says they have fixed it before and he is taking it there now. 2) If that fix doesn't work, there is a secondary fix where you drill a hole through the frame and seatpost and pin the seat in place. He will also talk with Felt to see if they have any options. |

They worked with Felt ( as they are dealer ) and Felt stepped up in a pretty big way. Getting a frame overnighted to the shop, and the shop is going to build it up for me so it'll be ready sometime tomorrow. Paying a little bit for it, since it's a brand new 2010 B2 frame, but certainly it's far less than a brand new frame or bike would have cost. And I don't have to worry about riding on a compromised seatpost/frame for 112 miles. So... yeah! Thank you to Felt and Thank you to Machinery Row bikes!!!! |

Chris, that is the EXACT same problem I had with my DA...unfortunately Felt couldn't find a DA frame in my size so my LBS tore down a 2008 DA they had in stock so I could use the frame and they put my old components on it. |

Iron Donkey 38643 , Wisconsin | Subject: 8:00 a.m. Gatorade swim tom. (Fri.) morn... I was asked to post this: If anyone wants to meet up, there will be a number of peeps gathering at the Gatorade swim at 8:00 a.m. Fri. (10/11) morning in front of the IM Moo swim start. Firstnet911 may even join! I got a one-inch vertical slice below my 3rd toe on the left foot at the top of the ball of my foot exiting from the swim this morning when I must have stepped on some rock in the water. I see pink, which means it went below the calloused area. I didn't clean the wound until I got home tonight. It smarts a little. I just need to keep it clean and try Craig's superglue recommendation. |

They'll resume searching tomorrow. Are people still planning to swim at 8:00 tomorrow morning? The algae will roll up nicely into the Bento Box. |

Statistics for the number of 18 year olds and older that are alive at this time on the Earth compared to who has?? Speaking of numbers, there are 2701 persons listed for IM WI 2009, according to the official program that we received. I wonder how many will actually not come and complete packet pickup and such? Last year at least 200 registrants did not come in for pickup (I helped check the cardstock of registrants that did not come in and had to put them in order). |
