Kido - 2011-02-01 1:07 PM icky weather here....  It's either  A)  Hot Tub and wine weather or B) blanket and couch and TV weather.

60 mph gusts brining in temps in the freaking 20's!!!!  Ouch.  May need to break out the Denver coats.

I WISH it were in the 20s here.

Currently 4F.
Feels like -20F
NNW winds at 29mph

It's literally a white out right now.

brrrrrr it's cold out today, I think I need a jacket. It's 68 outside.

78 here.

PS weather.com says it's currently 54 degrees with winds gusting to 28mph in Las Vegas, NV.

yeah, but you usually have to double the wind speed for gusts.  Something that happens in the valley.  And it's blowing in sub freezing temps tonight.  Ouch.

Just got the email from HR.  They are sending us home.  Next train I can catch is at 2:30 so I still have an hour.  Doubt I'm making it in tomorrow.

Hunker down everyone.  This is going to be a WILD ride.

Oh good.

funny the weather's been terrible here, but I guess we're just used to wild storms and the electricity going out and no communications and what not. and getting flooded in or out or whatever.

plus, it's not like you're likely to freeze to death here unless you're actually caught out in it.

I am thinking if he wants me to stay home and keep paying me to play COD that would be great.

They actually issued a company wide HR letter about 10 mins ago

that reads this in the middle

It is important to note that while the weather may take us a little longer to get to work, with proper planning you can still arrive at work safely.

The following notes are pointers to assist you:

þ                  Check the weather forecast the night before

þ                  Get up extra early to shovel / clean off your vehicle

þ                  Check with the bus company for revised schedules

þ                  Ride with a coworker if possible

þ                  Leave extra early

þ                  Plan extra time in your travel to manage the roads safely

As a manufacturing facility it is important that we have the necessary staff on site to keep our customers in supply of our product.  Keeping our customers happy is what keeps us busy and successful.

Please remember to follow the guidelines of the attendance policy

One of my buddies who works in a different building said they are literally snowed in. This blowing snow is no joke. They had to call facilities to do an emergency clearing so people could get out the door.

Still a white out. The ride home will be awesome. If I can find my car.

My white VW Golf Wagon will get lost in this. I will never be able to find my car. Why did I buy white one?

Ok all kidding aside I hope everyone gets home Safe and Sound. And frankly I hope I get snowed in tomorrow. I could use another day off. And really the world won't come to an end because a few cars didn't get built.
