Regular 90 Hebron, KY | Subject: RE: Running with Scissors Hey gang, The silent member has finally crawled out from under the rock. I am just kind of shy that way, no really I am. JK. This has just been a really hectic month for me as I have had to lay a very good friend and co-worker to rest along with some international business travel. Oh I almost forgot to mention the four wonderful children I have that bring the sparkle to my eye each and every day that I am alive. A cute little bunch they are and my loving wife makes it all complete. Taking two college courses and well the rest is history and that is why I have failed to keep up with the rest of you and have not posted as frequently as I should have. Enough of all that. I am 39 years old and have the lofty ambition to complete an Ironman before I turn 41. I have completed a couple of Sprint tri's and one Oympic distance a few years ago. I am a United States Marine stationed in Okinawa, Japan and will be departing this training dream come true in May to head off to Cincinnati for another 3 or 4 years. A great place to be so I can hopefully get a slot for Ironman Louisville in 2009. I don't know how the training in the cold weather is going to go as I have become very acclimatized to the warm weather here and the 50's are bitter cold to me now. Does anyone have any Kleenex ;-) Hopefully I can join you all again next month and we can once again do all those things we tell our kids not to do.. RUNNING WITH SCISSORS. Take care all and I will try to get in a couple longs runs this week to push the stats up well over 100 percent maybe as far as 125 if I am lucky. |

Regular 90 Hebron, KY | Subject: RE: Running with Scissors Sledge, You rock. The mileage so far this year gives me something to shoot for, or should I say catch up to. Thanks for being a mentor in the Manatee Express group. I am slowly feeling the MOJO coming back so I think that March is going to be an excellent month and I am going to try and eclipse all of the marks set in January. I have a race near the end of March and we will take it from there. Cheers. |

Pro 4343 Olney, MD | Subject: RE: Running with Scissors Good morning Scissors, I got out for a run this morning and tacked on an extra .3mi (1%). I'll pass 100% on Thursday and probably end around 105% The weather here has been a bit crazy: last Monday I ran at 58 degrees; Thursday it was down to 15; today was 35. I guess this way I get to use ALL of my tights and training tops. |
