LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the TdF.  Those guys are amazing......

As for me, I have actually hit 60 mph with a lot of down hill help.  It was kind of scary.

The course that I usually race on has a really long and steep hill that I get somewhere from 50 to 55 every time.  To be honest, not sure if I like it, but it's a race so I let it loose.  good news is, by the time I max out, the hill is over, so I don't have to deal with those speeds for too long.

The TdF mountain stages, they get up to 60-65 AND have to deal with twisty roads.  SPOOOKKKYYY.

NOICE!  That's really cool...

I tried to do that once, and what I did is I rolled right up near my parked car so that when I tried to get my feet out I lost balance and could catch myself on the car. Usually I practice stuff like that in a doorway or on the trainer until I am a little more comfortable with it. Although, there is no way I'm ready to do that in a race yet!

Hope you guys all have a great weekend! I am heading out to Muncie tomorrow morning with a friend that is also racing. He is a calm person and maybe he will talk some sense into me!

It's funny you were apologizing about how your IronMan life was taking-over.  I was talking to a guy who did Kona who's in-charge of our Fitness Program at work and he said that period of about 2 months before the race, he was worried he was going to get fired because he was missing so much work getting ready for the race.  He said he missed both his kid's birthday parties because he was out training, he missed meeting, everything.  He said it really consumed-him. 

If you not being on here with us means you're taking care of stuff that really matters, I don't think anyone would complain at all.  You've been a great mentor bib#2018.

Well, getting up early this week (5am) was pretty much a success.  I WAS going to try to get up today and run, but I think the previous 3 days started to add up and I fell back to sleep.  Ended up being late for work!  ...

Hey guys, thanks for all of the great support! I survived! Just finished up the race report so I won't go into too much detail here. It went really well even though we had pooring rain and thunderstorms for most of it. Only problem was that I pushed through a lot of knee pain to get to the finish and today it hurts pretty bad. Not a surpise for me though, I have been fighting with this knee for a long time.

Hey guys,

It's race week for me. I probably won't be around at all the next 10 days. Today and tomorrow, I will just be pretty crazy. I leave on Wednesday morning and probably won't be taking my laptop with me as it won't pick up a wireless signal now, rendering it useless to me up in LP. It's 5 years old and having lots of issues, and I just haven't had time to get them fixed or buy a new one. I will be driving home on Tuesday, so I probably won't be around until Wednesday.
