Champion 15211 Southern Chicago Suburbs, IL | Subject: RE: TAN 113 TANtamount to Anarchy Morning y'all. Wife broke her wrist (distal end of radius) yesterday morning falling off the bike. MUT and road intersection in a small, quiet, sleepy neighbor hood. Just getting ready to cross when a car flies around a blind corner at about 35mph. She was just beginning to mash her pedals when she slammed on the breaks. Didn't clip out, fell to her left, put out her hand and pop, there it went. She is pretty down on herself. We were having a GREAT ride up to that point. She was keeping up with a friend of mine and I on a lazy ride for us but pushing it for her (over 16mph) and she was having a conversation with my friend all the while. She said for the first time she felt she was a cyclist cause of how she was doing. He turned around and less than 1/2 a mile later, this happens. She told me last night she is not afraid of the bike so not to worry, she is going to get back on, but she is still pretty disappointed. She's home right now waiting to get into an Ortho to get the cast put on. |

Yanti, you can call me whatever you want Crowny, that sounds terrible. It sounds like it was a pretty clean break, though, if she's just getting the cast on. I'm glad to hear that she isn't spooked away from the bike. I always hate hearing people that become scared. That's great that she was having such a good ride up to that point, though! |

Besides, I was so exhausted from things that I slept from Sunday 5pm to Monday 6pm, although there was probably 6-7 hours' worth of breaks in there for meals and moving and such. |

Too bad you keep coming unclipped. Did that cost you anything other than 15 seconds? Were you close to anyone else? |
