Here are some highlights: -wore my wetsuit (a very last minute decision) and was 1st in my AG in the swim...ablsolute SHOCK! -thought of Yanti's words "...redlining all the way" and tried to keep my effort high on the bike -again thought of Yanti's words "sprints are pukefests" as I was puking my guts out at the finish. Overall, a great race and a 3rd place finish in my AG! (I can hardly believe it!! But, it was a pretty small race.)
Congrats on everyone else's races this weekend - looks like there were some great races and some epic finishes - way to push through everyone. I've had some CRAPPY races, and let me tell you, those hard days make the good ones even more sweet. So, way to finish but also, way to go to use your mind to stay safe. And I'm happy to hear that some of you who didn't race this weekend had some fantastic days too!! Yay for summer, peeps. Carry on training hard and having fun!! Awesome job on the swim and also the podium, woooooo!! Very nice job! Sounds like you really pushed yourself.
Great race congrats on the podium!!! Definitely sounds like you pushed yourself hard enough |

Yanti- At least you have rice so it isn't a loss of face for that. Is not being able to find the rice a loss of face? |

I did it once, months ago but I can't seem to re-figure it out...anyone? A little help? Did you ever get any help with this Melanie? I did post a pic awhile back, but I remember it being difficult to do, so I am no help whatsoever. Sorry! I asked Janyne what she did and she gave me directions as to how to do it using an online photo storage site like flikr or picasa. But I swear when I did it last time I didn't use a website (since I don't have accounts on any) but some how found out how to post them to my blog from my own album?!? I should've written down the instructions... :/ Your BT Albums can serve as a website picture host. So the instructions are the same; you just have to upload your pictures to a BT album first. |

Discussed the BT Silver membership with my DH last night and I think that is what I'm going to do. I think it's time for more structure to my workouts. I guess I need to be told what to do While in Moab I got a flyer for an OLY in western Colorado in October. I think I'll set that for my next A race, with some sprints sprinkled along the way. I'm doing a sprint in Santa Fe in July because I want the shirt. The logo is so cool!

Master 4452 | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty MAD MANATEES Part 2 -- Full Pod I don't think I have ever puked because of physical activity. Not even in basketball workouts in high school where you did suicides until you were almost crawling. I can remember my teammates chucking, but not me. Of course, that may be because I did all my puking after drinking. Now I try to avoid puking at all; although yes, sometimes when you are nauseated, puking and getting it over with is better... |

I've lived in the midwest and in the high desert. I prefer the desert. As for Moab, I've dubbed her the "Lady in Red". She is beautiful and mysterious, but if you underestimate her and are not prepared for all she can be, she WILL crush you. I know Moab well. We've been going there since our boys were little. Yet somehow I underestimated her and learned my lesson. |

Elite 4435 | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty MAD MANATEES Part 2 -- Full Pod Might have been over ambitious saying i'd do a drainer ride last night - didn't happen, house was nice and warm, freezing outside - dinner was ready as I'd prepared it early in the morning, soft tacos..mmmmm. a bottle of red wine also there at perfect room temperature. No way I was getting on that bike. We chilled, watched rubbish sitcoms on TV and ate and I had my wine. By 9pm I was tucked up in bed sound asleep. So clearly needed to recharge my batteries. Oh I see new article on BT about Mark Allen (he is on my lust after list) I noticed you guys talking about Chrissie's book and that she sh*ts in her wetsuit, funny htat's what stayed with me from the book too! hehe! I'm now reading the Swim Secrets book - and already it's making sense. I'm at squad tonight, high elbow will be the first technique adjustment, I'm such a straight arm swimmer no wonder i get nowhere but in butterfly I seem to motor along...coz my elbows are high! Nothing else planned today, think I need to get to the dentist, sudden sensitivity in one tooth is not a good sign. No ice cream for me! |

Haven't puked at a race yet either, need to find that upper level of "hurt" in a race, July 8th looks like a good time to find it though... And yeah it is kind of on my bucket list too, we are a weird group. I have puked before due to physical activity though, training runs in the academy and on a PT test.
Got my next two races signed up and paid for today, just need to get the HIM in January registered by end of July and plotted my training plans through the HIM in January, I have alot of training in my future. |
