Comet and Tricupcake-- Congrats on both your races... Way to hang in there!

Enders-- I'm bummed that you're bummed about the race changing to a dualy, but at least you get to race...

Lil t' --- Nice to see you again.

Alright, it's 10 something PM and I've got 2 more hours before school starts ( 2 online classes) and then another one on campus in the afternoon tomorrow. Tomorrow, I also start another 90 day training... With some running, biking and swimming (though I have to come up with some funds to take care of that). I'm actually looking to buy a bike here soon, I've been saving up, I figure between $1200-1500, or cheaper, whatever... I guess I'll have to start looking more heavily now that my mind is made up. Ooooh! Catalog shopping.

I have been slacking so bad it is sick lately. Business has been incredible and has kept me quite busy. The wife is pregnant and over half way home and we have been falling into the "screw it, lets just go out to eat again tonight" routine Frown

Hi all-

Was hoping I could join you all..."tri"ing to keep myself honest.  So a little background...I am 5'10" and weighed 250 2 years ago when I graduated from medical school.  I lost 15-20lbs instantly on becoming a resident 2/2 no time to eat and on my feet for 16 hours a day.  Stayed stable at 235 till April of this year when I decided to do my first tri.  I am now 214 and completed my first super sprint last month.  So my goal for September... 207

Great job to all those who raced this weekend.

I did ok food wise this weekend, except for saturday...nephews birthday party.  chips, veggie plate...bacon wrapped asparagus and a cupcake.  Other than that I was good all weekend.  Even with the splurge on saturday, I maintained my 196 weight.  Oh and I ran over 10 miles on sunday.

I'm down here on campus... And it's a freakin ZOO! Aside from better internet/wifi connectability, and some hacker/virus protection, a few deoderant stations would be nice!

So far, the campus website has crashed, and I can't get logged into 2 of my classes. I'm waiting on a third, and need to start reading. Other than that and the super headache from hell, things are peachy... I sticking to the healthy eating too! So that's good.

Tonight it is day 1 of 90, and I start with Chest, Back, and Abs. Might throw in a 1.4mi in for good measure. We'll just have to wait and see. Toodles!

Hey skinnies, happy monday!  I was back east for my MIL's birthday this weekend, thought I'd share a pic of my hubby and I.  Sorry no time to catch up on the rest of the thread, but I hope everyone is doing well.

BTW, I ate 2 serving of cake and ice cream at the party and did not feel guilty about it.  I did an Ironman so I'm enjoying the glow

party

Congrats on the long run!!! And I personally believe that bacon-wrapped asparagus should count as a veggie!

My goal was to finish in less than 50 minutes. I finished in 49 and some change...or so I thought. I totally forgot that I started a few minutes after the first wave to go out. I finished in 46:41, pacing an average of 15:02 minute miles. I was completely floored when I saw that. The fastest I've ever paced in training or any other race was around 17 minute miles.

Thanks to everyone here for encouraging me to get out there and just do it. The friends that I guilted into going with me thanked me for making them do it, too

Congratulations, Cupcake!!! To finish and to totally rock your goal is awesome!!!! WHOO WHOO!

(And nice work on the tri-ambassador front!!!! Thanks for being so encouraging to everyone.)

Guess I'm all caught up.

The race went super well, even if it was a du instead of a tri - hey, running is my thing, so that's the best one to have to do twice.

I'm still waiting for the official splits, but I beat the time I was hoping for...and I'm going to be so ready to do a real Oly next year.

Now, to get back on track and gear up for my off-season of running. Next race is a half-mary on 11/15...so I have 10 weeks to get my act together - and lose some of my summer weight. (Although, I will say - the DQ mushroom&swiss burger and banana cream blizzard that I had on the way home from the race yesterday tasted like heaven.)

First day done with! My class today went fairly well. But the real news of the day is that i spent 4, 4.5 hrs, hauling an extra 40 lbs today... Does that count as exercise? I know I didn't drink nearly enough water, and I didn't eat anything either, except a little cereal this morning... I did however take in some sugar!!! I was getting a little dizzy there, being in the heat and all.

So tonight is on, like Donkey Kong!!!

I have some reading to do, and an assignment or two, and then it's training time and then bed time.
