Hrm 23/90= 25 percent, think I'm a bit behind. I am waiting for the temp to get above freezing for my long bike ride of the week also. Wonder where I put those shoe covers.

Had to swim while it was snowing yesterday brrr. Got some interesting looks from the fishermen though, in their down jackets. Water temp at the lake has droped into the 40s (. I felt a decent drop in core body temp after only 40 min in the lake.

Welcome back, Rudy! Glad to see everyone who's checking in.

I am so excited! I am back at AIDS Marathon training (I've done six seasons with them, and am starting my seventh) , which is a huge step for me after being so sick for so long. We had our four-mile run today which is just ittle-bitty but I feel so good just being out and about.

I also cycle back and forth from the site, which adds up to about 45 min ride.

Brr cold day again. 37 F 25 mph wind that was totaly coming from the wrong direction. I did 70 mile bike 3.1 mile run brick and the wind was at a 90 to the road just blowing across me almost the entire day. In 4.5 hours I never got warm, wasn't numb, but I never got comfortable temp wize. Hope I have some juice back for tomorrow's long run.

Hey fellow Wolves.  Just a note that the spreadsheet updates per week are cumulative.  I noticed a few people are putting in their weekly miles for week 2 and not the total of week 1 + week 2.  I know this is a weird way to update the totals, but it's what the spreadsheet is set to calculate based on.

Seriously, you are nuts. That is plain crazy. Wow.

In related news, I remember riding a couple times in September to work, an hour ride, pitch black 5 C out, in shorts, no gloves. Just praying for the sun, took everything I had not to pull over and crawl into a ball on the side of the pathway. Guess I am a little nuts too, but not as nutty as you.

Well got my 14 mile run in today and it went really well. I had the right amount of cold weather gear on. First 7 miles 72 min 2nd 7 miles 70 min. First time ever I had a faster 2nd half to a long run. I guess keeping my heart rate down throughout the run helped.

Puts me at 40.45/90 = 45 % I guess I am back on target for the month now, yay.

Personally, I think you are all crazy. I just can't even imagine what happens to your private parts in 40 degree F water.....

Oooh, never mind I didn't say that..

I wimped out on my long run this weekend and only did 5. Now I have to do more tomorrow.

GREAT to see you back on the mean streets running Yanti!!! You go girl.

Got in 8 today and plan on another 5 tomorrow.  This was a scheduled "short recovery" weekend so it will be back to the long road next weekend.  I also am adding some speed & hill work this week....time to get serious.

The weather could not have been better and that makes it so much fun to run.

Glad to see everyone hitting the roads this weekend.

Quite a change from two weeks ago running @ 105F   Wasn't as cold in Vegas as your locale, but we dropped to 47 around the Lake Mead area yesterday.   We did have the same winds that are still continuing today.

Had one of those runs today where I wasn't sure I was going to make it even 1 mile.  Why is it that some days you can feel so strong and others feel like its the first time you have ever ran.  Oh well, somehow I managed to survive 5 miles.  TAt least that puts me over 50% for the month before the 15th.

Hi Team - just a quick update to let you know the challenge for next month (November) has already been posted here:

http://beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=136294&posts=1&start=1

Its all about hitting your workouts for the month and being run by the lovely Travis - all you need to do is commit to 20 workouts in the month, each a minimum of 30 minutes in duration.

What those workouts are - well thats up to you!!!

Cat

Well I got in a 15 mile run before work this am.

It was long after Sunday's 14 mile run. I am trying to shift my long run to Wed to allow more recovery time after my long bike, but didn't want to burn a week in my training to make the scheduling work so this week is a heck week for me.

Anyway that puts me at 55.5/90= 62 % ish. Looking good goal wize.

I may never get used to that cold water/ice water bath after the long runs brrr. If the water is that cold one might as well be getting in a swim.....

Oh well I'll check back in later.
