Table looks great! I am in awe of your skills

Expert 1157 Tremonton, Utah | Subject: RE: Mother Truckers Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge Baowolf - 2008-11-02 1:13 AM Opening day, 61 mile bike ride, 45-50 F, 20 mph winds, started raining 1 tenth of a mile from my house. Feet went numb about 1 hour into it. Man that took the wind out of my sails. Had to take a hot bath and get some warm soup into me to get stuff unnumb and core temp back up. I prudently decided to not turn it into a brick today. Oh well rain forcast for again tomorrow, we see what happens. Oh for Halloween I wore my wetsuit, swim cap etc... Great job sitckin in there with the rain. You're stronger than me -- I'd have wimped out, and gone to the club for 30 minutes on the stationary. (I'm wimpy like that -- Hate when the weather doesn't cooperate). But then -- I've been know to run 6 miles in -20 weather, so maybe I'm not so wimpy....
GREAT JOB nonethe less

I'll see if there's no wind I will probably go ride, if not I'll put my bike on the Fortius and go ride somewhere in France I guess hehe I want to move into some hot place ... not a huge winter fan Or 85 here is lovely Dallas! Used to live in Minneapolis though, so I definately understand the COLD!
Ummmm... yeah. You will repeatedly hear me tell you how cold it is there, you know, on the off chance you don't notice . I will try refrain from telling you that here it is sunny and 74 and I'm wearing shorts & flip flops. Oops. |

Master 1726 Sacramento, California | Subject: RE: Mother Truckers Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge DOH! That's so frustrating when the weather doesn't get the memo about your training plans . Good luck with the contractors. As for the bike miles... I'm a cyclist at heart... but I don't really love group rides... I'm weird like that. I really believe that you can view the world at the perfect speed from atop a bicycle and a recent century cofirmed that for me (I blogged about it in my non-BT blog). The problem with group rides, for me, is that you spend so much time trying to pay attention to signals and pacing, etc. that you don't get the same experience you do when you're out alone or with just a few people. My pretty road bike is a Trek WSD 2.1. It has pink accessories (bar tape, fuel box, saddle, pedals, bottle cages) and Ultegra components. I threw some carbon stryke aerobars on it just for giggles. I also have a really crappy hot pink mtb that's fun for cruisin' and the occasional mtb ride. Within the next few weeks, if all goes as planned, I will be receiving a "demo" TT bike to ride and review. I will want to buy it. I will get a huge discount but it will still be more than I can afford so I'll pout quite a bit. If you would like to contribute to the Mila Bike Fund, just lemme know. I take cash, checks and Paypal... hee hee . It will be black and pink and white... carbon... SRAM Red components... Zipps... *sigh*. That's the bike I want!...Do you like it? BUT i have one teensy little question. you bike in the rain? am i a giant chicken? i always take a pass on rainy days (at least on the bike, i LOVE LOVE LOVE to run in the rain) because i figured the road would be slick and i would end up in the ditch. is this not so? should i suck it up and ride in the rain?? |

Ok I have only done this once so if I mess it up please correct me: Go to any post that has the table (although it will be the easiest with the original post) Click the Quote button It will open a post a message screen Make sure the disable HTML box at the bottom is checked and then click preview Then highlight from the
before the word table to the
after the word table at the end Right click and copy this You can then paste it into the goals section of your blog (under control panel then to the right there is training settings area)
Hope this helps! Again if any of the veterns around here see a mistake please correct it. |

Mila - Do you like your Trek 2.1WSD? DOH... typo... it's a 2.3, not a 2.1, but they are similar, so I'll answer just the same: Yes and No . I actually do absolutely love it now but it was a process for me to learn to love it. I originally had a 2100 WSD that had to be warrantied out, and by the time that happened, they had made the switch to a compact frame. I was none too pleased with it at first, but my bike mechanic (who rocks) solved my issues for me and now I'm very happy with it. I'd definitely recommend it. I *heart* my bike mechanic. One of the best parts of the drama of having to replace my frame was when he called, having been in negotiations with Trek on my behalf, and asked "how pink is too pink?" and "I am not exactly sure what other colors you'll be OK with because of the pink accessories issue, can we talk about thi?" Heh .

Champion 10742 Ames, IA | Subject: RE: Mother Truckers Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge So I got my swim in before noon today. Waiting for it to warm up a little more and then I'll try and get in a good ride outside (anything under 50 is too cold for me). I must say I'm not used to all this training time on the weekends. I'm in a long distance relationship so usually I'm spending the weekends with the gf. Turns out she's angry with me right now and not talking to me so that translates into more training time for me. Yay! |

Elite 5316 Alturas, California | Subject: RE: Mother Truckers Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge Glad I skipped the brick run after that bike ride yesterday. This morning's run of 8 miles was not happy. I was fine up to about mile 3 and then it was all suck it up and take it 1 mile at a time for the next 5. I may not be 100 % after the 18.5 mile trail race last weekend. Oh well day off tomorrow and then a lite day before my long run on Wed. /em hopes to be 100 % by wed. I don't have any sharp turns on the ride I did yesterday, so no worry about slipping and sliding around much. Just wet and cold. It was warm enough to not have to worry about ice on the road so, shrug. I just could not bring myself to do 60 miles on my trainer. My trainer dragggggssss my speed down, like swimming with an ankor. |

LOL! Oh no!!! He-who-knows-all-things-bike-related is the one person who is never, ever allowed to be afraid of me!!! I do whatever he tells me to do. However, I admit, he finds it very disappointing that I don't wash my bike more often. On the other hand, I feel he enables me because he will do it for me when it's at his house . Pinkifying the bike has been a LOT of fun. Next up will be a pink zebra striped under the saddle bag. Oh, and in case you were wondering? It's pretty easy to spot my bike in a transition or event staging area. I'm not really as dumb as I look... there's a method to my madness . Good job on the run! I'm 2/2 so far. Logged a 6 mile hike/trail run today (with pretty pics in my log). |

I wanted to swim, but didn't feel like getting wet (I know, not the right mindset here ;-). But at least I did a little something something... Tomorrow I am planning on attending my usual spinning class and probably put some milage against my running challenge goal... I just hope I finally adjust tomorrow. The jetlag is still having me bad... Don't know why I have such a hard time this time.... |
