Just a few things to add...
1. The swim was even more violent and unpleasant than last year... at least for me.
2. Bike... hardest part was the wind was directly in your face coming up the whiteface climb
(last part of each loop
). It affected most people's 2nd loops a lot.
3. A lot of drafting... 6 guys were in a pack... they overtook me on the 2nd loop and I did the smart thing... I just pulled back a bit and let them go. 15 minutes later 3 of them were in the penalty tent...

4. Heat and humidity were tough on the run.
5. Overall finish times were slower than even last year... for example I finished 2.5 minutes faster than last year but was 172 overall. Last year I was 240ish overall... despite the rain... heat and humidity mess you you up more than rain I guess.
Lastly thanks for all the kind words... very nice to see.
I'll give a full race report, but essentially I cooked the bike a little much, had some nutrition issues and was in a world of hurt
(not just my hip... everything hurt

)
I gave the absolute hardest effort on that run that I had... the 2nd loop was very un-pleasant but I pushed through... I've got daughters to raise after all and they need to know their Dad doesn't quit when the going gets tough.
