I found the pool today!   I haven't been to the pool since May???  And boy did my arms feel it.  I only had time for a quick set of 500 meters before I had to run to lunch with my friends.  But it did feel good to get in the water and I need to make sure I get down there once a week.  I have lost a lot of fitness.

Way to get in the water and get it done! You say you've lost a lot of fitness, but you'll get it back quickly. Keep at it!

Sounds like we had the same issue on the swim - I could only manage 800yd before I had to haul back to work...

daisy2908 - 2009-11-02 1:42 PM AAARRRGGGHHH!  So, i went for a run this morning, outside, while JJ was getting ready for work.  Not 1/2 mile from the house, I slipped on a patch of ice fell and heard a crack.  Yup, I broke my ankle.  I have a follow up later this week with an ortho surgeon as I dislocated my ankle and broke my tibia and fibula.

So... I'm going to have to drop out of the challenge.  Or at least adjust my goals after the ortho appt.  I could probably still do some core work or modified yoga or pilates.

I'm just so upset.  Oh, and in quite a bit of pain.

Oh no!

Broken bones are teh suxxor.  Take care and let us know what the ortho has to say.

I decided to add a swimming goal to this months challenge to help motivate me to get to the pool.  I haven't been in the water since early Sept.   Here's hoping I don't sink!

It was another georgeous fall day here in Indiana.  60s and sunny.  I hauled the tri bike out and actually road outdoors.  Only a month off from riding and I've lost a ton of fitness.  I felt like a beginner out there!

Qua17 - 2009-11-02 3:08 AM Way to go Owlgirl!  Thanks to that hour-long run, you're leading the Cold Turkeys by having accomplished 15% of your goal.  Nice!!!

Thanks!  It helps when the challenge begins on long run day!

I tried out a new class today.  TRX.  It worked me over.  I liked it!  I'm sure glad this is a rest week from running!

I can't remember what it stands for but it is a functional workout for your whole body utilizing a strap that hangs from the ceiling.  Lots of core stabilization stuff.

I hope I'm able to pick up my baby tomorrow.

Norine that just plain old SUCKS!!! I sure don't miss ice and snow one little bit. Take care of yourself and hope the ortho gives you good news.

Travis that is my son's name, too - I'll keep a special eye on you this challenge! ;-)

Everyone else, thanks for welcoming me to the team, I used to do challenges on BT but stopped for a few years, now time to get back. Some of my best BT buddies are leftovers from when I was Captain Banana!

Take care, and keep on keepin' on -

It's a good name, and not overly common.

Ummm, barely.  I was pretty beat after my set of 500 though.  I could have used some floaties.

When I got to the pool, it was overrun by noodle ladies.  Ugh.  Their class was ending as we were coming.  After I finished chatting with the lifeguard for a few minutes, I walk into the locker room.  Nothing like a bunch of half naked noodle ladies to greet me after a few months of absence from the pool.
