Hi Elves!  Got back late last night from a trip to Mount Shasta to cut a Christmas tree.  I got a nice little 6.5 mile run done in the snow and 20*F weather.  It was so nice to be back in the snow and cold weather but the elevation kicked my behind.  I miss living there.

I wasn't able to update the spreadsheet until this morning.  Sorry guys.

Hello Evil Elves! I had a very unhealthy weekend... no workouts and a few too many beverages... TIS THE SEASON! Oh well, I got in a 45 min run at lunch today and I'm on track. My apologies, but I haven't updated the spreadsheet. For some reason Google spreadsheets are blocked here at work, so I'll have to do it when I get home tonight. I'm one bike session behind, but will make that up tomorrow. Have a great day!

'tis definitely the season for erratic training. Had to ditch my strength training workout to shovel snow. Had 38cm yesterday. Had to get the walk shovelled. Spent an hour. Does that count as strength training?!?Back at it tomorrow. With all the get-togethers, etc, December is definitely a hard month to keep the training schedule!!Keep going team!

Had a bit of a christmas lunch on Sunday and I think we may have overindulged (we managed to get kicked out of an all you can eat buffet after 2.5hrs!). Finally managed to make up the run I missed due to being completely stuffed for the remainder of Sunday

Wow, great job! That's one heck of a lot of meter-age for one year. Way to go!!!

Yikes!  An hour of snow shoveling counts as ST in my book.  You were lifting.  Doesn't matter if it was snow or iron.

I would say that 1 hour of shovelling snow counts as strength training!!! I'm heading over to the YMCA at lunch for a spin class. That will put me right on track for monthly goals. It's not part of my goals this month, but I really need to get into the pool. It's so tough this time of year. Maybe I'll do a heavy swim focus in January. Happy training everyone!

x2! When I lived in Iowa my landlord gave us money off rent in exchange for me shoveling people's driveways. That was always a VERY good workout.

I had a nice quiet morning at work today and was able to get a nice little 4.5 miler in. It was about 58 deg outside with just a bit of wind and plenty of clouds. Perfect running weather! Sorry for all of you suffering through the crappy weather...

Added An hour run this morning with frost on the cars but not on  the ground .

With winchill  it was about 30F .

Adding Cotton Gloves and a bike vest did the trick clothing wise.  I felt strong .

As for my second challenge the battle with the scale its a stalemate.  No gain no loss.

I have finally updated the spreadsheet... I'm 31% of goal. I did a 45 min spin class at lunch today, so I'm on track for the month. The plan is to get up early tomorrow morning for a 45 min to 1 hr run on the dreadmill. I need to get ahead of goal before Christmas week because I know me, and me likes to eat and reeeeeelax during the holidays. I'm off the whole week between Christmas and New Years, so a lot of "couch potatoing" will be going on. I think I'll add a new training plan to the BT site... it will be called the Half-Ironman-to-Couch-Potato 3-month plan. Everyone have a great night.

The alarm clock was not my friend this morning. And with the sound of pouring rain outside, I decided to sleep in. I got over to the gym at lunch for a 30+ min treadmill run. Hoping to get in a 30-45 min roller ride tomorrow morning. No posts from anyone else since last night... Is everyone still out there? C'mon Elves... let's win this thing!!!

Out for a dawn patrol ride on a new route , It was fun and i had to do a little preparing printing out a map  and negotiating the turns  , There was more car traffic than my usual ride but no double loaders , I was surprised by the nice views , two fast downhill sections  and even a half mile unpaved dirt section  .  luckily it was not cobblestoned . it was hard packed dirt. I was not sure how the bike would behave  to my delight  the bike  had no  trouble negotiating it .

Temp 32F and sunny , wore two pairs of gloves and socks.  I Warmed up (a little)  in the sun during the last half hour.

I did another bike ride on the rollers this morning and I have another set for tomorrow. I'm on target.

I'll be out of town tomorrow through Monday and won't be working out but I accounted for this when I set my goals. I'll check in when I can.

Go Elves!
